I think he's really awkward to play against because he's left-handed. JC doesn't know how to play him and struggles against him. But, this year, Koubek has been playing really badly and hopefully JC will play a lot better.
I saw both of those matches too and they were horrible to watch. So many long rallies in both of the matches made it really uncomfortable to watch for me!
Koubek is dangerous but as you ay not playing his best recently since he came back from his suspension. If he's come through qualies though he must be playing pretty well. JC needs to stay extra solid in the rallies. Hopefully I'll get to see this match and hopefully I'll be able to relax a bit more than I have been during those two matches last year

If he plays Roddick in the second round, we're guaranteed to see him on tv in the US.

Re: The "I hope there are plenty of rain delays and an awful draw in Cincy" thread

With all the points the other Spaniards have to defend for the rest of the year, he could easily be the 2nd best Spaniard by the end of the year. I'm curious to see how many points other players are going to be losing this week. The rankings on the 22nd will be the ones used to determine seeds for the USO. Come on top 20 seed!

Edit: Actually, JC could be the 3rd Spaniard after Cincy. Robredo fans, turn away! Tommy has 225 points to defend from Cincy last year, and it doesn't look like he's going to defend most of them, unless he can manage to do what he couldn't do last week, which is to beat Gaston.

Randy, I don't want to ruin your hopes, but Tommy is going to beat Gaston this week. Deb tells me something about how the balls bounce different in Cincinnati... lol. Perhaps in some happy land Tommy and JC can end up tied. lol.

Troicki - Djokovic - Del Potro - Kyrgios - Berankis
Cibulkova - Robson - Kirilenko - Azarenka

In fact, don't bother winning any at all... not even one point.

Hopp Rogi! Go Gonzo! Allez Gasquet!
