Re: Why juanqui is losing?

2005 is not over yet, so it is too early to give up hope. The way back after an injury or bad season is long and painful and always prone to disappointments. I know what I am talking about, I followed Marat Safin.

I have been saying this already often and on many occasions. My personal feeling is that JCF needs a new approach to his game and that could come by a new coach. I have been told that he feels very loyal to his present coach, well this is fine, but sometimes tough decisions are needed.

If he doesn't want to seperate fully from Antonio, he could still get an additional person to offer him new perspectives while keeping his familiar environment. This is delicate, but I think it could and should be done.

Re: Why juanqui is losing?

well I actually think he's playing ok...he just needs more confidence basically. I mean, in IW his draw was quite bad...hopefully he gets a better one in Miami!

The IW-draw was normal and given JCF's head to head against Carlos, it was not bad at all. There could be much worser draws, unfortunately.

Re: Why juanqui is losing?

J.Johansson,Roger Federer,Carlos Moya even facing clay specialist Coria on hard court there are the same results, lost. It's not the draw's problem too much, think of his good times he can beat everyone.Even if he gets a good draw once or more ,when he goes futher the more big opponent he will face, still lose to them?
He is the same Juan Carlos as before, but they are not the old guys
I am putting all my hopes on clay season.

of course it could have been worse...but I think hitting #7 seed Carlos Moya in the second round is still pretty tough. I know he could have run into someone like Federer, Hewitt, Roddick, Safin etc and I agree that would have been even harder, but there are a lot of other ppl he could have faced that would have been a bit easier for him. Favourable head to heads don't really come into it at the moment cos at the moment JC is probably not playing as well as he was on the times when he did beat Carlos.

Well, I think a favourable head to head still might help, particularly in a situation of low confidence, in addition, these two know each other well, so that was also an advantage, and Carlos did not have brilliant results so far in 2005 either. But it is over, so no further arguments on it. I sincerely wish him a good draw for Miami, but I am not sure what a "good" draw might be.

Re: Why juanqui is losing?

I think it's too early in the season for us to worry, he hasn't been playing badly at all. In Dubai he almost beat Federer. I agree with Em I think he just needs a good draw so he can get a few wins, increase his confidence and play his way into a tournament

Rafa Nadal Juanqui Ferrero

Marat Safin Carlos Moya Feli Lopez Nando Verdasco Richie Gasquet

Robredo Guga Garcia-Lopez Ferrer Tomeu

Interviewer: It surprises people how well you get on with Nadal
Carlos Moya: I can't conceal that. I love him very much and I knew that one day he would be better than me. He's on another level.

Re: Why juanqui is losing?

Sorry this might sound a bit abrupt, but after every match he loses are we going to be saying it's a bad season? Everybody except Roger Federer loses matches, and it's not like he's losing to qualifiers, it's freaking Carlos Moya. I'm quite happy with how he's been playing right now.

Re: Why juanqui is losing?

i don't also think 2005 is a bad season.he just had a bad start.no one knows what the future have in store for JC,so we should keep our good wishes &JC must try his best to get over every difficulty in the future&just forget the past.

That's what I was about to say. The other two losses, well one was his first match of the year. The other was Stepanek, who is in good form. No worries. They're top players, and even if he draws them again, on clay I'm not so sure he won't win against at least one of them.

Re: Why juanqui is losing?

And thinking of what he'v beaten this year ,Van Gemerden(I haven't heard his name ever)Zabaleta(just have some ability on clay)Schuettler(a average player except 2003)Mayer(sorry I never see him play but I heard that his hard court is bad)Andreev(last year's RG R2 played against JC was the only one his match I have seen.He strikes me as power player)none of them is top player, but at least he gets some progress than last year, that's the only thing makes me a little happy.I feel frustrated ,I have been waiting his return more than 1 year, now I am lack of confidence too.

Re: Why juanqui is losing?

Im sure he's getting better with time and surely lets see how he'll do in Miami, and then the s expected clay tourneys r coming - I just dont wanna push it so hard and worry so much about why he's losing - last 2 losses r to Roger and Moya right?..[even though I hoped he'd beat Moya]..It doesnt look so bad to me.
