Corretja would be a good choice, too. He and Juanqui are good friends, too.

I would like him to play against David Ferrer in his final tournament in Valencia. Whoever wins, it would be a great match.

wouldn't it be great if Juan Carlos got to the final and won it? In that case I wouldn't care who it was against!

He seems to agree with you. I'm not sure Ferrer rejoices at the prospect of potentially retiring one of his best friends, but I agree that it would be very fitting. Considering they've decided to play doubles together, maybe Juanqui's last match will be with (rather than against) his preferred opponent.

Yes, Juanqui and Ferru playing doubles together will be very nice! I wish them both a great Valencia tournament!

well now it seems to be that JCF MIGHT go out to buddy Nico! Well at least they're both really good friends, so I doubt either player would be hurt who won or who loss. It'll be a good match.

Whatever happens, I hope I can see the tribute to Juanqui in Valencia. Have a great tournament, JCF, and enjoy the rest of your life!

It looks as though the Tennis Channel is going to start broadcasting the Valencia Open with the quarterfinals on Friday, which means I won't get to see the tribute ceremony.
