Re: Juan Carlos' Summer Clay Court Campaign Starts in Stuttgart!

He olayed alot better second set just a shame he let those mini breaks go in the TB but I think he has had a good week all in all following his really awful grass season and Albert has been playing very good tennis this week and through out the whole clay court season.
I hope he has a good run in Humberg next week.

Why bother coming round here if all you are going to do is slagging him off?

I know...! And I think today's win probably means more to Albert than his win over Fed.

O well, pointwise JC should gain more in Hamburg if he performs as well as this week. The draw will be probably tougher but I hope he'll channel the frustration he must have felt today into motivation to do well next week!

Re: Juan Carlos' Summer Clay Court Campaign Starts in Stuttgart!

Too bad, Juanqui! If it couldn't be you, let it be a fellow Spaniard, Montanes. He has been playing very well this year. He is a scrappy player and I like him. I like when a smaller player can play well and win. In a sport where Rafa and Roger, at 6' 1" are called "little" (which is insulting and laughable to little 5' 1" me), it's great when athletes like Montanes can play at such a high quality.

I really wanted Juanqui to make it, but Montanes is good too.

Re: Juan Carlos' Summer Clay Court Campaign Starts in Stuttgart!

Darn, a Juanqui victory would have been a nice lift to my spirits! Rafa's French/Wimbledon triumphs and those of fellow Spaniards have provided some of the few bright spots in an otherwise horrible year destined to just become worse.

I'm not Spanish, but I love the Spanish players, especially Juan Carlos, Rafa and David.

Grrrrr. I am going to ignore who he lost to and the struggles in the opening match and just focus on the semi final result

Re: Juan Carlos' Summer Clay Court Campaign Starts in Stuttgart!

Once again Juan Carlos lost to the eventual winner of the event. Ok so GM retired in the second set but AM was winning easy anyway.
Maybe people will stop moaning and complaining about JC's lost!!

Albert was really playing phenominally the other day. It wasn't as if Juan was playing terribly. On to the next tourney!

I agree, Meesh. Albert is a great player and I admire a smaller player with fight in him. I hope Juanqui will have better luck at his next tournament.
