Unhappy Comforting words for Layla in here please

There, I posted a thread. The first one in Juanqui's forum.

This will go down as Black Monday in my personal tennis-loving history. Apart from Lindsay and Tommy all of my favorites lost. Most of them in embarrasing straight sets. I knew there should've been no play. I would've sent them home and rescheduled everything for tomorrow (today that is).

Do you realize that I might not see Juanqui on TV again this year! I have no coverage of the Masters except highlights if he gets into semis or something. This was my last opportunity to feast my eyes on him and the last tape of him I got is of his funky yellow hair.

And there's no interview either. Now we will never know why he dyed his hair.

I'm struggling to find any positives in this, but in vain. Help me out here please. Pretty please.

Ok, I'll stop wallowing in self-pity now. I just needed to get this off my chest.

Don't take it too hard, dear Layla. If you feel bad about his loss, we Rogi fans are down in the dumps too. Am sure you'll see ur Juanqui again before the year ends...

Yes, Paul Weller is great. I just love You do something to me. It's one of those perfect songs. *sigh*

I'm glad I took you down happy memory lane.

And thanks for your words of comfort. I hope you're right. Maybe I'll see him at some minor tournament. Gotta keep hope alive.

And Juan Carlos, if you're reading this ( @ myself), please have a magical hard court season.

What's so funny 'bout peace, love and understanding?

What can I say, except misery loves company. It was a horrible day on all sides, only to continue today I fear (Dani plays Serena tonight, among others). I suppose we can take comfort in the players that are left--I like Max Mirnyi and it was one of those matches where I knew I'd be sad at the end, plus Guga is keeping the hope alive--and just move on, look ahead.

The US is only going to have coverage of a few more tournaments before the Masters Cup (the remaining Masters Series and like 2 other tourneys) so I'm more or less in the same boat as you . . . perhaps less.

And hey, at least you have his funky yellow hair from the Open, I don't even have that.

Thank you for commiserating with me guys.

You're right TH, we do need to take comfort in the players that are left, even though there are so few I could actually cheer for now.

At least Juanqui is still perfectly healthy, will all the injuries the other players have been suffering lately. That thought can perhaps cheer us up. See, I'm still trying to cling to hopeful thoughts.

True, I do have that tape of his hair lol. I'll make sure not to erase it. I can always go back to watching some of his radiant smiles. But I'm sure you have tapes of him as well. I know they will get me through the autumn (not my favorite time of the year by any stretch of the imagination).

What's so funny 'bout peace, love and understanding?

Oh, yes, I have many tapes of him Unfortunately I didn't start taping matches until a few years ago, so not nearly enough for my taste.

Smile

Layla and everyone!!

Aww, I'm sorry there is sadness in here! Can I help? *cough* Layla and other JCF fans, I'm sure you'll get to see your hero on TV again soon - I'll hope so! *crossing fingers*

My faves have already been eliminated, so I haven't really that much interest in the tournament right now... I don't really mind who wins. I'll just wish for some good tennis!

Let's see... ice cream... music (GOOD music)... comfort... aaaaaah...

Hi Fiona!

Thanks for stopping by to cheer us up. *hugs* You made me smile. See?

Mmmmm ice cream and great music, sounds just perfect to me. I'll put some on right now. Sometimes I forget how healing music can be when you need to cheer up.

I didn't realise your faves have been eliminated as well. That's dreadful. I wrote somewhere else that I pretty much lost interest in the USO as well, but you're right. I'm still looking forward to seeing some great tennis, perhaps something in the style of the Blake/Hewitt match or the drama of Safin/Kiefer.

Thanks again.

don't worry, Ferrero will win Roland Garros one day and will put a big smile on your face!

it's just one loss, Juanqui will get over it...so will his fans!

"Ferrero's going to be a tough one for anybody. This guy is the real deal already. He's got a chance at going a long, long way. This guy could be the best Spanish player ever; that's saying something." - John McEnroe, June 2000
