Magnus Norman has knee surgery

October 30, 2002

STOCKHOLM, Sweden (AP) -- Magnus Norman had knee surgery Wednesday, sidelining the Swedish tennis star for a month.

He played his last match a week ago in the Stockholm Open and pulled out of this week's Paris Masters.

In a statement released by Swedish news agency TT, Norman said he hopes to resume training Nov. 27 and is scheduled to play Kenneth Carlsen in an exhibition in Copenhagen, Denmark, on Dec. 3.

In 2000, Norman reached the Australian Open semifinals, the French Open final and a career-high ranking of No. 2.

Norman had hip surgery in the United States a year ago and spent three months on crutches. He recently showed signs of regaining his form, advancing to the Japan Open final in October.

Wink I'm also a great fan of Magnus!

I also LOVE Magnus and absolutely want to support him! Is the Martina Hingis quote directed to Magnus? When did she say that? I also like Martina so I'm very sad that she's considering retirement, with the super sour fact that she's only 21 or something like that. So young!

Nop, it was something that I "say" to Martina. Yes, I'm a fan of her as of Magnus too(I love the time they were a couple in 2000 )
