McDonald's coffee better than Starbucks

A triple-venti-Americano-decaf surprise?
Consumer Reports finds McDonald’s coffee better than Starbucks
Starbucks may be the world’s largest coffee shop chain in the world, but what they serve isn’t as good as what McDonald’s brews, Consumer Reports says.

In the March issue, the magazine called the fast food giant’s Premium Roast “cheapest and best.” The coffee also beat out new offerings from Burger King and Dunkin’ Donuts.

A panel of “trained testers” took their brew black — no cream, milk or sugar — and visited two locations of each company.

The magazine reported that McDonald's was “decent and moderately strong. Although it lacked the subtle top notes needed to make it rise and shine, it had no flaws.”

As for Starbucks, the magazine called it “strong, but burnt and bitter enough to make your eyes water instead of open.”

The magazine’s final recommendation: “make your own coffee — just call it something special.”

Yow! I go to McDonald's & Jacques-in-zee-box, because they give you the 2nd cup free.

However, I do like the pastries at Starbucks. For that matter, the Armenian district in my hometown has a few pastry shops...a pox on Starbucks...I'll go to mickey-d's and then the sugar alley.

7-11 has good coffee too and at just 99 cents a cup, it's a steal; plus, they have krispy kreme donuts right next to the coffee.

I want to have my evil way with Tommy Robredo

When I was visiting Hong Kong, McDonald was the only place I could drink a decent cup of coffee.

Starbucks is way overrated. Plenty better cups of coffee elsewhere.

Hopefully you're at least sleeping in until noon.

This is no surprise to me. I've always hated the burnt smell and bitter taste of Starbucks' regular coffee. It's gross.

I don't think people who go to Starbucks drink the regular coffee anyway. From my observations they always get the expensively sweet vanilla-caramel-frothy drinks.

Dunkin Donuts makes the best regular coffee.

McDonald's coffee will give you third degree burns.

"What kind of shape am I in now? Well round is a shape." said Roddick with a laugh. "I had a very detailed retirement plan, and I feel like I've met every aspect of it: a lot of golf, a lot of carbs, a lot of fried food, and some booze, occasionally — I've been completely committed ... The results have shown."

Re: McDonald's coffee better than Starbucks

Evidently no tests were completed in the U.K. The last time I braved coffee from Mcdonalds, I threw it away after a few sips Lol. I would imagine urine flavoured with salt and lime juice would produce a similar taste...Nasty stuff.
