Both of there pure coffee's suck, although McDonald's may be a bit better. But Starbucks has a good overall option of things to eat and drink, plus they have a good taste in music.

As always, consumer reports is always a pleasure to read.

The price is better at McDonald's, that's for sure.

Starbucks has made it okay to charge US$4.50 for a coffee. This was unimaginable even 10 years ago in the US.

I'm sorry to tell you James... but that was indeed what you got in your cuppa.

At least they treat their employees remarkably well for a chain of that sort -- even part-timers can get benefits. Makes me feel a bit better paying that price there (although I usually get something cheaper )

Really! In downtown L.A., there's a place called Phillipe's...and they sell mugs of coffee, for 9 cents! Yet.

Naah, sorry. I clicked on that myself...late to getting around to editing it. So sorry.

If, however, you google "Phillipe's," and then click on the one beneath the first result, you'll get where I wanted to direct you.

Re: McDonald's coffee better than Starbucks

McDonald begins to promote McCafé in US. While I was in Hong Kong, almost every McDonald has a café attached to it and I liked it much more than Starbucks and the price was half.
