a political one for you...

............................

George Washington.................................John Adams............................................. ...Benjamin Franklin

These men, {or others, very much like them--} thought, and fought, and risked “our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor…and we are currently in a War…{whether it be against Islamo-Fascism, Terrorism <capital or small ‘T’,> or the prospect of another generation getting away from the ridiculous and crushing debt overburden that was improbably the ONLY good thing William Jefferson Clinton achieved in his eight years of Presidency: more balanced budgets than not.

So, Americans, ya’ gonna vote, this upcoming election cycle?

Lots of election-capable, voting Americans…

Election time coming up. Barack Obama just threw his hat in the ring…Hillary Clinton already had hers in, and I bet that guy from Arizona, McLain will run…

So, here’s a couple of conundrums, to contemplate when you think of all the bad stuff that you gotta take care of, by voting.

^^---a 20 pp. history/essay of the Electoral College, mentioned in the Constitution…while ‘political parties’ are not--^^
According to this essay, the founding fathers of the United States didn’t think much of political parties. Yet, ever since George Washington, we’ve had them. The above-hotlinked article suggests they are a benefit, nonetheless. (It's on a Government site...)

^^--six-page essay, on the unconstitutionality of the Federal Reserve System--^^
(By Harry V. Martin)
The budget deficit doesn’t mean anything, if the voters continue to elect Congressmen, and Senators, who don’t have any sympathy for using “real money.” It’s not theirs…they just decide on a generation-to-generation basis to spend more than they take in. No prob, for them... I understand they get theirs “off the top.” They don’t have to wait ‘til 65/68…whenever. Of course, the value of the dollar may be much depleted, by the time they qualify for their Social Security…but they will have been depending on their already-qualified-for Federal Pension, long before then, perhaps.

My point is not just to snivel, and to complain......my point may be that what we think of, in terms of government, and what is...are very different, and distant. Maybe I just want to know that we Americans still matter.

What matters to you, in this upcoming election? [2008]

For all you non-Americans, what would you change, about us?

Re: a political one for you...

Interesting articles.

This information is not new to me, as I have taken rigorous AP US Govenment courses that adrresed these issues and more.

They are very important to think about, but many people simply do not care about politcs at all. Well, only about 50% of the U.S popultaion dosent care.

As for what should chage.....too much to talk about it right now
