Talking Eurovision Song Contest

Hey all

I know it's a bit of a sad thing to admit, but I like the Eurovision Song Contest. Who else does like it? Have you been following this year's entrances? Who is your favourite?

Well, I'm not from Europe, but I've followed the last 2 years; always supporting Spain.

lol Ma. Estefania.. Spain's entrance is a bit average this year. And 'Love song'? Come on.. LOL I like Malta (On again.. off again), Denmark (Shame on you) and The Netherlands (Without you), though I fear the latter will get hardly any points.

Re: Eurovision Song Contest

I love the Eurovision Song Contest because it's so tacky and the acts are so bad, and whoever I want to win never does.

Hopefully this year there is something like Alf Poier the Austrian entrant that was a one funny tune.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

lol George.. I know what you mean I haven't heard an Alf Poier-like entrance yet, but I must admit I was horrified by that.

http://devoted.to/eurovision/ go there in order to listen to the songs.

Re: Eurovision Song Contest

Alf Poier what a legend, this is a guy who didn't try and win and he came 6th so that was good that some people actually have a sense of humour.

You never know I might even submit a Eurovision report, and you think I am harsh when it comes to tennis, then this might come as a surprise.

Actually I am not going to listen to it, until the night it's on.

I never understood what's the goal and and the interest of Eurovision ??
The most sings in english, and often, the representants of the countries come from another country...
And it's so kitsch....

I don't know who is the french representant this year...? A distinguished person of whom no one has ever heard I guess. Who's going to finish in the last ones...

Pour faire du sport de haut niveau, d'autres mentalités sont plus propices".

Re: Eurovision Song Contest

not a BIG fan but I watch the event tho.. what do you think of the Dutch candidates CooCoo? I think they're quite erm... special... hehe (well the Belgian contestant Xandee's pretty average i guess?)

I can't wait to see the candidates from Germany... I laughed my ass off the last times they were in the contest.. *same thing for Belarus if I'm not mistaking*

Well.....I confess that I haven't paid that much attention to Spain's representant this year as last ones with Beth or Rosa, then I don't even know what's their song

About the rest of countries, I don't know anything.

I find exciting the moment in which the countries start to say the punctuation that they give to the other ones.

And "vice versa" !

Re: Eurovision Song Contest

Well, everyone is saying it is so kitsch and that is true. But maybe that is what makes it nice to watch?

I know he wasn't trying to win and with his lyrics he actually made a statement, but I couldn't stand listening to it.

I actually like the Dutch entrance a lot this year. I even voted for it when it was in the national final (this is something I NEVER do). I liked Xandee's song at first, but now it's quite boring. I preferred "Chemistry" and "Television Game" out of your finals. I also enjoyed "Vieze oude venten" haha

And yes, the Belarussian entrance is very bad (but a lot of people really like it, so it could end up high in the chart) and the German entrance actually is OK.

Well, Jonathan Cerrada, I was told, is not a nobody in France. I don't like his song, but surely it won't end up way down there
