Disturbing dream - thoughts?

For the last 2 nights I've had a dreams where I've had huge black maggot like larvae removed from deep in my skin (gross I know). The first dream I had 2 taken our from my abdomen and last nights dream I had one removed from my face. They were all alive and moving when taken out. Any ideas what this might signify (if anything)?

I hope I don't have this dream again, pretty disgusting Although in the dream I don't seem to be disturbed by it.

Re: Disturbing dream - thoughts?

Well, I wanted to open the thread about dreams, not disturbing ones!
BTW, I have dreamed about Nadal and Fognini coming in my birthplace and they both played Exhibition match for children that have any form of cancer... After match, I have met them in cafeteria. It was a good dream. For further details PM me. xD

Probably means that you need to undergo an exorcism of sorts

Those are not the body parts I expected black "maggots" to be removed from you.

And where exactly did you expect them to be removed from?

I'll take that as a compliment.

It happened again last night. What drug will make it stop? Diazepam? If I go to my GP will he prescribe something like that to stop it?

Re: Disturbing dream - thoughts?

According to some ancient oneiromancer book, "maggots" symbolize "insidious inner troubles, some potential crisis and decline". They denote also "disruptive notions" and mean "the adversary subconscious".

Now all that should give you some thoughts where you should find the solution.

Diazepam is good short term sleep inducer but it does disrupt the REM sleep cycle. So theoretically should reduce dreaming. But long term it will reduce sleep quality (if you use over a week, say). Personally I'd be a bit careful in terms of what the drug is indicated for and see a doctor for better advice.
