Global Affairs Thread

I've created this thread as an effort to organise the various topics scattered on multiple threads.

On this thread, anything can be discussed regarding global and national affairs on: politics, economy & finance, industry, energy, pollution, war, terrorism, etc.

When a unique thread is created about a specific issue, I will add the respective link in this post.

It's a very relevant issue. I put it as first mainly because most people think overpopulation is a problem in itself, while the real problem is the economic system.

I've also posted a video on population statistics there which sets the record straight regarding population growth. We have already reached peak children which is at 2 million. The remaining pop. growth is due to the increasing life expectancy which still affects people from a generation where families had lots of children.

Sick ISIS savages film themselves burning two Turkish soldiers alive after capturing them in Aleppo in disturbing new execution video | Daily Mail Online

They banned social media sites over this video here. We can now only access them using VPN.

Our army was there to take lands from ISIS and Kurds, give them to their fave 'rebels' instead. This is what you get. DM only posted 45 sec video in this news, it is way longer and disturbing.

Nation in mourning.

A lot of terrorism is false flag attack. It's an improved form of privateering from the Naval Era. Now, in many cases, the terrorists themselves don't even know who they're working for.

Every ISIS video is like that, ironically they take inspiration from Hollywood filming techniques. There are huge production companies behind it, it's the driving force behind why they have attracted 30k foreign fighters over the past five years. I can totally understand why it's a huge attraction to the weak-minded.

On a related note, interesting documentary about Boko Haram: Boko Haram: Behind the Rise of Nigeria's Armed Group - Al Jazeera English

Deutsche Bank will have to pay the US Department of Justice $7.2 billion over the sales of "toxic mortgage securities", though it's still only half of what the DOJ originally wanted to fine them for.
Credit Suisse will be fined $2.5 billion + have to pay an extra $2.8 billion over a 5 year period.
Barclays bank are also getting fined, though they're challenging the decision.
