help with ''ŋ'' sound during or after the vowel

lets take the word ''long'' the nasal aspiration marked by the ''ng'' should occur while pronouncing the ''ɒ'' vowel or is the vowel unaffected and the aspiration affects only the closing consonant?

Re: help with ''ŋ'' sound during or after the vowel

English vowels aren't specifically nasalised like e.g. in French. They aren't specifically denasalised either, so a degree of natural nasalisation may occur due to the consonant influencing the preceding vowel, hence whether the ɒ ends up completely non-nasal or slightly/somewhat nasalised, it's fine. You needn't nasalise it on purpose, that's all there is to know.
