I'm no fan at all of Death Metal, Black Metal or this whole crazy, for me way too heavy metal scene in Scandinavia, but what Lordi performed was softer anyway and I can like such music, even though it would do it for me too if they hadn't worn such crazy horror masks which resembled Klingons a bit
But the song itself, yes I could like it!
First I watched the first 12 or 13 contestants and I thought "damn, nothing good" and only recorded the whole thing and did something better meanwhile. When it was over, I looked throught the rest by fast-forward and well, there have been only four songs that I watched at full length: UK (liked it very much!
), Croatia, Finland and Ireland. The rest was nothing for me.
Music always depends on your taste. Personally, I'm okay with the winners (which is not always a given) because I don't generally dislike this genre, but of course I can understand people who claim that the Eurovision Song Contest is suffering a decline of values when Metal bands are winning right now
