Trans-Sibirian-Express

Well as most of you know I have to look for a new job. But actually can'b be bothered right now. I rather prefere to do some traveling before I start a new job again.

One thing I always wanted to do is the train trip from Moskow to Peking or vice versa. Or walking over the Chinese Wall so that's more in my mind now than looking for a new job. So if any of you guys have done this already or have any infos about it please let me know. Any little info is very much appreciated - like where to go, what to do, cheap accomodation etc. etc...

Thanks guys for your advise and help.
And Happy New Year to all of you.
Doris

Hoi Doris,
Go to this webpage, this woman Ruth has given heaps of information and links to different experiences of the Trans-Siberian railway, types of train services, timetables and the various regulations.

Read all the links, and there is plenty of information, I haven't done that yet, so good luck with it.

Hopp Rogi, Hopp Fondue, Hopp Doris.

Send me a PM if that link doesn't work.

Re: Trans-Sibirian-Express

Yes like Baikal is for sure on my list. But haven't read about the birch firrest yet where's it situated?

Gee I still can't believe it myself I'm planing this trip. Hmmm does anybody know how save it is for a single women to travel alone in this country? (I would never travel alone in Brasil for ex. - yes I made bad experiences that's way. I never felt hasseled anywhere else but there and that was even travelling in a group...)

Re: Trans-Sibirian-Express

hmmmm... Did not know that about Brasil.

I've always worried traveling as a single woman in North Africa although I would love to travel there.

I would think that the trip would be arduous, but I guess I wouldn't worry about it anymore than would anywhere else. I, of course, live in the U.S., and you might think that unsafe as well.
