Re: The Divine Voice - Björk

Its hard to believe a female can make beats this good, she is an amazing producer! There are many guys who couldnt make great beats like bjork, let alone other women! Some of the best beats i have ever heard, from any genre. She is also a very unique individual which is great.

My favourite bjork track is JOGA, amazing track! I would like to know if this is her original beat though because there is a cannibal ox and casm track called angels and insects which has the same beat. I am guessing cannibal ox just used the bjork beat afterwards.

Re: The Divine Voice - Björk

I have only recently come to know and appreciate the wonderful musical enigma that is Bjork. Given that I consider myself musically intelligent and diverse, I wonder where she had been all my life.

Before there was this, there was nothing, and anything was possible.

Does anyone here have her album, Medulla? Is it any good, 'cause I'm thinking of getting it.

no offence, but the first time i heard her i thought she sucked. I guess she's not my type of thing (i'm more classically inclined but i love listening to heavy metal)

Re: The Divine Voice - Björk

that's ok also Juanqui Lover. As a rabid Björk fan I do have to say most of her albums on first till fifth listening I dislike, hate or feel queer in my ears. I usually gradually have to filtrate into the songs. It's something I have experienced with more albums that later ended up among my favourites, I remember how I listened to Radiohead's The Bends twice and then locked away for a year. Out of pure boredom I listened to it again and fell completely in love.
So, perhaps give her a second chance, but it's also very possible she's just not your cup of tea. I suggest the album Vespertine - quite some classical influences there through a choir and strings, along with minimal beats.

It's quite good, but once more she has pushed a boundary by using mostly vocals. So expect choirs, beatboxing (amazing beatboxing I must say!), an inuit throatsinger and an acapella song.
Sounds weird perhaps, but there are some great popsongs there, check out the singles Oceania and Who Is It for a preview. Watch out for the video version of Who Is It though, that's a remix with bells which I personally dislike.

She's i like "I've seen it all" from dance in the dark, and "bedtime story" the song she co-wrote sung by Madonna

"Poor is the man whose pleasures depend on the permission of another" .. Madonna

Drooling after Schuettler, Bolelli, Volandri, Starace (short haired version), ToJo, Tursunov, Alves, Davydenko, Djokovic, Petzschner, Ferrero, Simon, Qureshi

She sings better in Icelandic actually, but she is good to listen to now and then.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Yeah, I've heard Rahzel is pretty amazing. The reason I'm thinking of getting the album is because Mike Patton (who's my favourite artist) guests on it.
