Re: Does anyone else hate the world cup?

We have to come to the understanding that 99.5% of buffoons who masquerade as humans are here to eat, sleep, shit and just reproduce. They don't give a crap about bribery, abused workers at world cups, the disgusting nature of pitting one nation against another... one brother against another when we all live on the same freaking planet... the disgusting nature of corporatism and how these large corporations and sponsors rob these countries like Brazil... how dissidents are silenced. Go on sheep. Eat, sleep, and act like mindless drones that you are.

Re: Does anyone else hate the world cup?

Winning the WC compared to Champs' League is like winning a Masters compared to a Slam. Slams' Bo5 is a challenge of another level compared to Masters' Bo3. Similarly, winning a tournament with a double round-robin and two-match playoffs is a challenge of another level compared to tournament with a single round-robin and one-match playoffs.

There's a reason why hockey players rate the Stanley Cup with 82-game regular season and Bo7 playoffs above the Olympic Gold with one-match playoffs and a joke of a round-robin where you can lose all your matches and still win the gold. Similarly, WC is just a glorified exho compared to the CL.

Re: Does anyone else hate the world cup?

I like the spirit of it, the fans? Not so much. As for the actual soccer, yes, I like to watch it, but, there are a lot more cons than pros to World Cup.
1.
2. Continuing the disgusting cycle of commercialism and unfair practices against workers.
3. Fans getting drunk and rowdy.
4. Fans doing annoying things, like vomiting on peoples cars.
5. Pointless drunken riots when a team wins.
6. The stupid, extreme, patriotism.
7. U.S. always sucks and loses

10 rank of Nadal when he beat him at Wimby.
9 ATP World Tour quarterfinals.
8 December, 1984 is his birthday.
7 straight seasons in the top 200.
6 ATP Challenger Tour titles.
5 ATP World Tour doubles title finals.
4 games won against Djokovic.
3 wins against the top 10.
2-0 record against Nadal.
1 ATP World Tour singles semifinal.
0 ATP Masters wins, ATP Singles finals/titles.
When will your fave reach DUSTIN?

biggest joke I've read in a long time, only true greats win the WC and perform on the biggest stage, lets face it what would Messi rather a CL? or WC? no brainer, who are the GOATs in history? Maradona, Pele, Beckenbauer, Ronaldo, etc etc and they've all won cups. Even Cruyff is more remembered for his brilliance in '74 than his wins of the CL at Ajax.

I ain't American and I'm not a huge fan of American football. I prefer rugby over soccer and Am. football. No constant pauses like in Am. football and no injury faking players like in soccer.

The US is a regular at the finals. And ranked 13th in the world even though soccer is a minor sport. That is pretty impressive.

What's to envy?

BS. Messi is better than all those players, from 2009-2012 he dominated football to an extent never seen before and that none of those names could ever dream of - like Federer in tennis in his prime or Jordan in the NBA.

For four years, Messi was both the most prolific scorer, the best dribbler and the best playmaker in football - dominating two Champions League finals in the process. This is obviously miles more impressive than anything that can be done in a competition that happens from 4 to 4 years.

For 4 years on a weekly basis, Messi was basically worth 2 goals per match on average - directly that is, not even counting the goals coming from space created by the other teams' need to mark him with multiple men -, which is something we're unlikely to see again in our lifetime.
