MG, would you consider my song vulture? Not sure if I want to keep it or not.

And yet you choose to not join my protest. I mentioned in the very early posts of this thread that its a better idea classify the 90s theme into a specific genre (rock/alternate/poprock/hip hop) but now that MTF has chosen to overlook my post, we might have a playlist that plays Metallica next to Barbie Girl.
Well, once the theme is decided and submissions have been sent in, it is definitely too late to change.

As for the last line, I agree with afterglows that diversity is good. But a slightly more specific them would definitely be much better. Yes, some themes may get lesser participation, but the good thing is if it much lesser, then the participants that don't play have to wait for only 2 weeks(direct final) instead of the usual 3 for the next game. Decade and open themes are probably the only ones that will keep everyone happy(in terms of genres), and there are probably only 3 big ones of those left: 60s, 80s and 00s. And taking your last line a little too literally, (it may not be Metallica, but)

I actually took time out to listen to a whole bunch of tracks from the 90s this time. I'm probably as serious as you were last time, and if your history is anything to go by, that doesn't bode well.
Well, can't agree with that. I haven't done badly because of the copious amounts of time I have spent in deciding my song. Rather because my song choice has consciously been one which would make the majority here listen to something they wouldn't regularly. I could quite easily achieve the same thing without spending so much time on song choice. So, being serious about your song choice shouldn't be a bad sign.

I do it in a large part for myself, rather than for choosing the most appropriate song to send. It gives me a reason to search through my music and re-listen to songs that I haven't heard for a long time. It makes me stumble across songs which I used to like at one time but don't care much for any more. It's this journey that I enjoy.

In! I was born in the 80's, so the 90's was "my decade". A lot of songs to choose from. I will decide in the next 5-10 minutes which one I will send!

Sent!

I've resisted bravely the temptation of sending "November Rain", "Under The Bridge" or "Don't Look Back In Anger", cause I'll probably have to kill some people if one of these sounds didn't win the contest.

Just sent my song!

I think most of you will recognise it but isn't an over-played one at all. Was a hard choice between it and a couple of other songs including ones by Radiohead, PJ, Blur, Nirvana and Oasis.
