1st it was the Kings, then the Timberwolves, now it's the Thunder. But I'm not fallowing NBA as closely as I used to. I fallow European basketball more these days. But I was only a real fan of the Kings - Stojakovic and Divac era
In the NBA I'm more of a player fan then a team fan, so it's the Thunder bcs of Durant, my favorite player since Stojakovic retired, McGrady stop playing on his level and Milicic getting traded to Boston.
Maybe I'll start supporting The Warriors now, since a former player of my favorite team (Red Star Belgrade), Nemanja Nedovic, is on the team.
Great to see another fan of the Kings. Man, that team with Stojakovic, Webber, Divac, etc. was incredible. That should have been a championship-winning team in my book, and that '01-'02 season was the time to do it. They were never the same after that. Went into a stretch as a great seasonal team and terrible underperformers in the play-offs.
I wouldn't call myself a player fan, but I understand what you mean. I support the Kings as a franchise, but they're like a completely different team now. Likewise, I didn't follow the Heat until they signed D-Wade as a rookie and picked up vets like Mourning and Peyton. So the players are a big part of it, yeah.
