I enjoyed that. She even did some scat like Ella (dee-da-da-da-dee-da). Thought of Janis Joplin's emotionality.

And yes, no doubt her looks won't hurt her career, as it never hurt Diana Krall's.

Time for utorrent but I'll buy her cd if I like it.

Don't have one. I listen to whatever I think sounds good. I'm not a "favorites" person. There's too many good things in this world to just pick one. My tastes are all over the place: MJ to Dolly Parton to Beyoncé to Kenny G to Ace of Base to Mariah Carey to 2Pac and so on. Depends on how I'm feeling. My shuffle will probably go from For What It's Worth (Buffalo Springfield) to Bitch Don't Kill My Vibe (Kendrick Lamar).

As long as my ears like it. Any suggestions? I'm open to new artists.

I kinda liked snora jones. Rihana's "lucy in the sky with diamonds hack" is nice too, I like Adele, I find Lana Del Ray's voice somehow resonates with me "emotionally" (very enchanting)
Melisma (what Mariah excels at and others like Ms. Aguilera fail at. I like Xtina but no) is actually a very hard thing to do. Mariah doesn't overdo it. It's very prevalent in gospel choirs and even opera. Lana puts me to sleep although the original version of Summertime Sadness is nice.

I assume this is the album version?

It's awesome.

The version they play in radio sucks heavily and there's a techno remix (or smth like that) which is just horrible.

Yeah that's the album version. I don't know what that crap they play on the radio is. Completely ruined the vibe if the song.

There is more character in Lorde's singles than in the whole of Mariah Carey's discography. Carey's output serves as yet another proof that a very good singer doesn't make a very good artist.

Lordi should stick to that type of music they had at Eurovision in 2006 i think

their new effort is unlistenable

Re: Who is the best emergent diva of pop?

i love pop music but the likes of britney, Miley, Katie give music a bad name

Rihanna i cant stand as a woman

LG is the only one who i believe is in it for the music and not the greens

Re: Who is the best emergent diva of pop?

I thought Lana del Rey was good before I heard her live performances, she can't sing to save her life.At least Adele sounded as good as in the studio recordings.
