It's not just the fake money. It's also the fact that you get a fresh start in the next week(assuming the game is still continued). I am generally much more careful in vBetting as your vCash does not "restart" every week.

If THE game is to continue, I see it containing two types of ranking. Your tournament results, which give ranking points on some scale or other (similar to FITD, perhaps?), and your total plus/minus from betting. The last one will be used as a tiebreaker in case of equal ranking points.

Any comments on this?

So something like a football ranking table, using goals for/against for tied points. In this case it would be profits/losses.

I'd add that different tournaments give different amount of points (I'd go with something similar to what is used in PAW). US Open will be the first official game, so this ranking system could be started there.

Just a suggestion, maybe don't do THE Game for Winston-Salem and take that week to finalize the rules and get rid of all the flaws.

Yes, this was implied by my suggestion of ranking points a la FITD. I don't know PAW but in FITD winning gives you the tournament maximum points, 2000 for a slam, 1000 for a masters and so on.

Agreed. We can start a discussion thread after Cincy.

Isner was down *1-4 15-30 in the second and still managed to win it! Guess I'll need to go for a really crazy bet tomorrow

You should bet on Federer getting more than 2 games against Rafa or something.

Minimum odds of 6. May go for a set score prediction, could get odds>10 on that.

Re: THE Game - still in trial - now Cincinnatti

Harking back to that $25 rule, I don't think it should be completely dismissed. How about this: it could be allowed only once for each player, the first time they go bankrupt. They can bet with it for the remainder of their survival in the game, but will lose the $25 at the end of the game and only keep whatever profit they made with it. If they fail to make profit or just go bankrupt again, it's game over.

I just feel giving people a second chance but only really a small thread to work with gives a unique twist to the game.

Everyone is required to bet at least $100, or their available total if this is lower, the next three days.
