The game, as is, is very basic but it's very open to modding. There are several people that do custom animations for the game. Take a look here: https://www.facebook.com/TEAnimsMeg

The animation will never be as fluid in a niche PC game as it is in something like Top Spin 4, but Tennis Elbow at least gets all the motions correct when you download the right mod. IMO, the graphics/animation are just good enough, but that's only because the gameplay is so sound. The ability to play on HD photo-realistic courts helps more than I would have thought too.

And you can use a console-style controller for the game.

I prefer Tennis Elbow Manager so I can unrealistically go from losing R1 in Futures events to winning slams in less than 2 years time

Yeah, playing the tour with 2013 mod. Haven't played an online match in years though.

this game is good, but i can't really grasp the service action. the female player's voice in the demo version remind me of Sharapova's

Re: Do you play Tennis Elbow 2013?

I played the demo and I loved! I should wait for Tennis Elbow 2014 or buy the Tennis Elbow 2013?

Tennis Elbow for Mac have differences btw the Tennis Elbow for Windows?

Last question, do you know any site or link where I can do a free downoload? Could be Tennis Elbow 2012 or 2013 (For Mac or Windows) - Thanks

Re: Do you play Tennis Elbow 2013?

I downloaded the demo and the game seems alright. What kind of controller can you use for this game? And is it busy online or is it like some games where you have to wait half an hour to play someone.

As far as I know, you can't talk to your opponents, right?

It depends on the time you play. In my experience most players were in Europe. It also depends on if you're playing with a mod or not. People playing with a mod can't play with vanilla players online so you might see a lot of available games to join but might not be able to join them. If you pick the right time of day you might only be waiting a few minutes for an opponent. The ITST mod, imo, is the best online mod to play with but it can be very difficult to learn since it puts a premium on realism and timing.

You can chat with your opponents in a dialogue window. You can use a mouse, a keyboard, or a game controller. I use a keyboard so I can assign shots to different keys.

So now you'd better stop and rebuild all your ruins...

I bought this game back in 2006 and every update since then has been free to download for me. Just have to save the key. The game developer isn't even sure he's going to do a 2014 version.

I am pretty sure the Mac version can't be played online.

Any controller that normally works on a PC should be fine. If you only have a console controller, I believe the Xbox 360 controller is designed for the PC and will not require much setup; Dualshock 3 isn't and you'll need to download some free third party software to make it work. The Dualshock 3 setup isn't very intuitive, so you might want to go another route if you're not confident with computers.

There are organized groups that play online. The most prominent one that I'm aware of is ITST; you'll need to download their free mod from the official Tennis Elbow forum to play with them (mods only work on the FULL version of the game BTW). Type in 'ITST tennis elbow' on Youtube to see how their matches look. And I'm almost certain you can't do voice with the game, and I suspect you can't text either but I don't do online so I'm not sure.

Edit: Apparently you CAN text, so disregard my last point.

Re: Do you play Tennis Elbow 2013?

One of the coolest things about this game is the ability to play any year from 1990 to like 2028.
I like playing manager and doing the years from 2000-2005 and seeing things like El Aynaoui come from two sets down to beat Agassi in the US Open final and Paradorn winning Wimbledon happen.

Paradorn Srichaphan
Kei Nishikori, Donald Young, Somdev Devvarman, Dustin Brown, Steve Johnson, Yannick Maden
Robert Farah, Clement Reix, Alexander Dolgopolov, Nathan Thompson

I have an Xbox 360 controller, an official one and a mad catz controller so if you're telling me this will work then I will probably give this game a go at some point.

So is everything else free, aside from purchasing the game? It's not like Top Spin where you've to pay for everything else is it?
They should figure a way to get voice involved.

What's "manager"? So every player from years gone by is on this game?

Above official link explains how to set up a 360 controller with a PC. I'm assuming you have Windows for PC; not sure if it would work on a different OS. Also, I haven't used the 360 controller with the game myself so I can't be 100% certain it works, but the Dualshock 3 definitely works so I don't see why it shouldn't. I think you're able to use a controller with the demo (pretty sure about this; I don't think I would have bought the game without trying it out with a controller first but I can't remember for sure), so you should try to set this up before buying to avoid any nasty surprises.

And while I don't play Manager, you can play with pretty much every player on the ATP since the early nineties in the regular version too. It's not intuitive getting these players available outside of tour mode, so I'll walk you through that if you go ahead with the purchase if you'd like.

One bad thing I'll say about the game is that it's not user-friendly AT ALL. If I wasn't crazy about how it plays I don't think I would have had the motivation to figure out its setup. The creator isn't doing himself any favors in attracting a broader audience thanks to this.
