Re: Most memorable sports moments ever!!!

was just a little goofy 10 year old at the time but remember these two Swedish moments like they were yesterday. Impossible to get more drama.

1994 fotball world cup, QF Sweden vs Romania. What a match. Swedens sneaky free-kick combo, Romanias late equalizer, Romania takes the lead in extra time, Sweden gets a guy sent off, comes back and manage to equalize again. It was very hot that day and both teams had given it all. Epic penalty shoot out followed. Tied after 5 penalties each. Then Sweden finally wins with an amazing save

1994 Winter Olympics, Hockey Gold Medal game, Sweden vs Canada. Tight and close match that ended 2-2. Penalty shoot-out. Tied after 5 penalties each. A young Peter Forsberg goes out on the ice. Rest is history.

You dont need to write them all, just some of them

Ofc Fed-Safin & Fed-Nalby in 2005, also Fed-Agassi at the 2004 USO QF in that incredible conditions.

I also remember it like it was yesterday. Different feelings though
And to think that this came after an epic win with Argentina...

USA run through the 2004 ice hockey WC to bronze medal (2 penalty shootouts won)
Navarro-Dent 2009 USO R64 one of the few true S&V matches (from the start till the very end) in the present times...

Re: Most memorable sports moments ever!!!

Hard to say which is most memorable but 2003 hockey WC Finland-Sweden QF was what instigated the strongest emotion in me concerning sports ever.

Finland went 5-1 up after 25 minutes, choked and lost 5-6.

That's the only time I've cried after a sports event.

Educating MTF clowns one post at a time.
So many fanboys to troll, so little time.

Favourite tennis matches: 2011 US Open Final & 2012 Australian Open Final, starring Novak Djokovic & Rafael Nadal, showing us just how far science can take humanity.

The US Open Final was especially enjoyable, with 'Why are there white spots all over my body?' Djokovic and 'Why am I sweating boils?' Nadal embarked on a titanic battle, concluding with the inferior player, Nadal, entering a sort of delirious state of psychosis. This allowed him to, while showing very little fatigue, consume inhuman amounts of energy, before he literally ran his legs from underneath him. This is truly the stuff dreams are made of.

^The goalie change was the thing that won the match for Sweden IIRC.

Good one. I remember watching it from beginning to end and thinking it was a unique moment in current tennis, a sort of last breath of the classic S&V game. They were even coming in after 2nd serve!

Re: Most memorable sports moments ever!!!

Quite a few.

From 3:20:55 that says enough words.

- Ivanisevic winning Wimbledon.

- Sweden winning DC 84 when the Americans had McEnroe who lost 2 matches all year and Connors as their singles players.

- Kirani James first ever gold medal for Grenada in any sport.

- Denmark winning Euro 92 when they didn't even qualify for the event only got in cause of Yugoslavia being kicked out.

Muster coming back from this and winning RG becoming number 1. Telling the idiots he didn't get the points from a supermarket.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Machado wins 6-2 6-1
