Angry NAIR DISSOLVED MY SKIN!!!

I have these hairs on my face that are too short to be waxed, but are dark enough to be visible. Waxing only works a little, and causes my face to break out in hives when I use it there and I didn't want to shave it, so I went to Wal-mart to buy some depilatory cream.

I saw on the shelf that Nair has this 4 minute apple-licious hair removal cream. I've used creams in the past, and I've had a problem with them not working very well because they caused the hair to break off in the middle instead of at the root, but I figured I might as well try it.

Anyway, i took it home and put some on my face. It burned, but I didn't think much of it because the skin on my face is a little sensitive and even some toners or acne pads can cause it to burn. It kept getting worse so, at less than 2 minutes, I went to take it off to check on it.

After I wiped it all off, I looked closely in the mirror and noticed several dots on my skin that looked like large, shallow pink pores. There is also this pink circle that was about 1/8" in diameter with a round patch of whole skin in the middle as well as this irregular shape that's about half an inch long. And now all the skin in the area is all red. Hopefully it all heals okay and I don't end up with a bunch of craters on my face. To think, I was worried that it wasn't going to be strong enough!

I'm glad I had the sense to look in on it instead of waiting the whole 4 minutes, which I thought about doing. On the positive side, every single hair is gone and the skin that's left is incredibly soft and smooth.

Has anyone else had problems like this with depilitories or is it possible that I just got a defective bottle?

btw, do you think I should write in to nair?

Each persons skin has a different sensitivity level. The person they used to test it probably had a really high tolerance level.

NEVER leave it on for as long as a the packet recommends. Those products burn like hell!

It sounds like you had an allergic reaction. It's pretty common when you use depilatories on delicate skin. Check what it says on the side of the pack. It will fade away imo but I def. wouldn't use it again. Try plucking with a good tweezers.
