Thanks for replying my thread, guys!I'm heading to the gym in a few minutes, lol.I train full body every 2nd day.
Unlike the other chicks my primary goal was and still is becoming stronger.Maybe due to the fact I was a very small and weak teenage girl...When I started 7 months ago I was doing 10kg squats and 5kg db presses and crying. Also realized that my nutrition was really bad just like almost anyone else's I know.
I didn't know there was a Fitness thread, maybe mods will merge them.
The bad thing about lifting in general is that young persons do it mainly for the aesthetic look. They put themselves an unrealistic goal like now the zyzz trend (whom I have less than zero respect for).In my gym boys aged 16-17 lifting for less than year started recently talking obsessively about steroids, can you imagine? Also girls basically doing nothing but cardio and 2kg curls are on 2-3 types of fatburners and stuff.

Yes. It's really tough getting into weights when we're not used to them. We're using muscles we never even knew existed
It looks like you're setting some excellent goals too. The most liberating state of mind for me, in regards to exercise, is when I focus on the health benefits and how great my body feels when lifting weights (cross training), doing pilates, and stretching. Add to that all of the fun sports: hiking, basketball, tennis, sking etc. Excercise for me is about enjoying the moment
, instead of being obsessed with what I may look like a year from now.
Looking better is a positive bonus but my secondary motivation. Hard to stay motivated when we have unrealistic body goals (have to get the perfect body) because of the stress involved, and that stress and disappointment causes people to give up eventually. Exercise should be fun, and it should be for a lifetime! People in Scandanavia cross country ski well into their old age, and look and feel 25 years younger because they love it! You're a smart girl Ivelina, and I know you won't fall into the trap that many young people fall into. Those boys you mentioned think they are immortal and shrug off the fact that lance armstrong had brain and testicular cancer from the juice. So sad.
