It's a few days old now, bit I think it is worth a thread. Now, I'm not exactly a fan of Justin Bieber, but I'm going to try and put my dislike for him to one side.
In case you don't know what happened this week, Bieber had a horrific few days. He's been in the UK, on Monday he was two hours late for a gig at the O2, with some of his 'Beliebers' even resorting to booing the Canadian icon. Then later in the week, he was again a few hours late for a meet and greet session with his fans. Not setting a very good example. He was admitted to hospital on Thursday with breathing problems, but was released within several hours.
Then the really shocking incident happened. As he was leaving a building, dressed in a ridiculous all-red outfit, a paparazzi managed to get under his skin and say some quite unpleasant things to Bieber. He initially got into the car, but after some more insults from the photographer, Bieber got out and attempted to hit both the camera and the guy. He was restrained by his driver and personal assistant, but obviously still visibly outraged.
As a result, Bieber flew out of the country immediately, cancelled his weekend TV commitments and vowed never to return to Britain.
So now, this begs a few questions.
Does Bieber's torrid time of late represent anything significant? There's been strong rumours that he's been taking drugs to a quite harmful degree, and at nineteen years-old, there's still lots for him to learn about conducting himself in a professional manner.
Do you have any sympathy for him with regards to the paparazzi incident? I kind of do, but he shouldn't have listened to it at all. The whole thing just reiterates the idea that he's under lots of pressure right now, with all the bad stuff accumulating.
Would you be upset if he vowed never to return to your country? I know I'm not, but of course, he'll backtrack.
