No matter, I found out two things at once, so many thanks for your help

This maximum total also corresponds with the most points I've ever got at once.

After Nadal beat Monfils at Doha, before AO 2014

Somewhere out there, there is a homeless person who once took betting advice from GSMnadal

Yes, and 2147483647 is 2 to the power of 32 minus 1, so it's simply that there are no more than 4 bytes/32 bits available for counting.

Actually, it's 2 to the power of 31. They're using signed integer though, the final bit being used for sign.

So, it's all between -2147483648 and 2147483647.

Of course, I forgot for a minute negative values are also possible.

Nice work guys but now my life has lost a little meaning with the knowledge that I can't obtain further rep points

I have 2147483647 reputation points. Awesome that not even Sapeod's frequent bad reps stopped me from reaching the maximum rep value

All you need to cancel him out is one goodrep from a "maximummer" such as Lopez or Hewitt =Legend. Considering even I'm more than halfway there already, there's bound to be a lot of maximummers around.

You fully deserve to be a maximummer

Your latest repper has some ways to go, though.

Re: Help me with a small rep experiment

yeh, 2147483647 also.

what does the maximum rep value even mean, exactly - receiving the maximum amount of points from others' good reps, or to do with giving out reps myself? does the total draw from a particular period of time or everything since the MTF join date....?

| Wins over 3+ of the Top 4. Players to reach all slam QFs+ in history. Hawkeye/Line Calls. QFs+ at Slams & Masters, but never Top 20.
Haas / The Fog / Tsonga / Brown / Mahut / Baker / Alund / Fed / Khachanov / Pouille / Tursunov / Copil / Bolelli / Brands / Benneteau / Gojowczyk / Steps / PHM
Rafter / Edberg / Henman / Stich / Safin / Gambill / Grosjean / Malisse / Gonzo / Llodra / Santoro / Agassi / Schalken / Nováček / Rosewall / H-T Lee / Kuerten / Boetsch / Pavel / Sundström / Björkman / Scud / El Aynaoui / Arazi / Calleri / Sampras / Nalbandian / Mosquito / Srichaphan

Your rep points has nothing directly to do with what you give, only what you receive (indirectly giving helps, if you get reps in return, since then the people giving to you will have more to give).

The total undoubtedly draws from the MTF join date. Back when the system was started, I doubt anyone thought about maximum values. In fact, I know from asking a veteran that back then the dots were even in play - not as now, when most newcomers go straight from one to ten green dots on their first rep. But it turned out that after a few years points accumulated and became big numbers indeed.
