My review of Rihanna's "Unapologetic" and why you should buy it.
Okay, if you don't like reading just listen to this video and you'll be convinced!!!!1
Her best album yet! You should all buy it, because it's not some local, tacky, recycled pop album. I love it. With input from Adele, Sia, Guetta, Eminem... and the kween herself RIHANNA!
Okay, track by track.
Phresh Off The Runway
Swaggiest track of the album, and hits you straight up. Gurl aint playing. More than one listen and you're HOOKED. JAM!
Numb ft. Eminem
This is the start of the worst sequence on the album for me. I don't like this at all. Middle eastern flavoured track, Eminem does a pretty tame verse. Can't sing along to it either. Would have been better shortened to a interlude of 1 1/2 minutes. Surely won't be a single.
Pour It Up
Another track I don't like too much. I normally skip past these songs when I'm listening. But this alone is okay. It's not awful.
Loveeee Song ft. Future
We're BACK! Slow burner drenched in an autotuned Future. Cool track. L-O-V-E-E-E-E-Eeeee
One of the highlights. Samples Ginuwine's Pony very well, could really be a single. Dark and moody and sexual, and then a dubstep breakdown or two to really SLAY! Nice build up.
Right Now ft Guetta
Probably will be a single, definately radio friendly.
This is like her Blackout I was even reading a review for Blackout last night and the guy called it unapologetic !!!
That performance of Stay is incredible. Tell me you all watched the video!!
arm, I don't usually like commercial music either, but this is the queen we're talking about.
In general, I like a lot of her songs, but not all of them. The magazine I work at didn't give this latest album a great review. I'll look around the iTunes shared libraries at work to see if anyone has it and I can give it a listen.
The song in the YT video didn't really grab me. maybe I'll try it again later when I'm more focused/less tired.
Re: My review of Rihanna's "Unapologetic" and why you should buy it.
I don't really buy Rihanna's image at all. Her music is really quite limited, but I'll admit she makes some catchy songs. However I try my best not to listen to her. Although, seeing David Guetta's name on the credits for one song piqued my curiosity. House music is one of passions and he used to be one of the best producers out there. If it really is him producing the song 'Right Now' then he's well and truly passed his peak. The evidence of his decline was there already, though.
Thanks for the review, though. There's no harm in having an opinion.
