Over to Kuwait!

My Kuwaiti athlete is Ali Al-Zinkawi, a hammer thrower. He has won the Asian and pan-Arab championships several times.

Mostly from watching the track-and-field World Championships/Olympic Games. Almost all countries have been represented there. For Kuwait the choice was easy, this is the only one I can remember having seen.

Over Kuwait, I will try to help to Litotes with some info for sports player

Today my choice is Fehaid Al-Deehani, the only Olympic medalist from Kuwait, he won two bronze medals in shooting.

- Sydney 2000 in double trap
- London 2012 in trap

He lost bronze medal in double trap in London after shoot-off and took 4th place.

And that liberation is celebrated tomorrow, in the second National Day that Kuwait has.

Some facts for Winter games.

Only countries from 4 continents won medals
Liechtenstein is the only county who had Olympic medal only in Winter games

True, no African yet. They haven't got enough winter....

There are two nations in addition to Liechtenstein who has taken more medals in Winter games than they have taken in Summer games - Norway and Austria. Norway is the all-time medal leader in Winter games ahead of the Soviet Union/Russia, USA, Austria, Germany, Finland, Canada, Sweden, Switzerland and the DDR. After next year the DDR will finally fall out of the top-10.

I was looking in some statistic and realise that Spain and Belgium had Winter Olympic Champions , also North Korea had

Spain's most famous winter athlete was a German who changed nationality, took three gold medals and was then caught doping and had the medals removed. But they have had genuine Spaniards competing and winning medals in alpine skiing.

Belgium's gold medal came from figure skating back in 1948. Only medal since 1948 came from a Dutch skater that changed nationality.

North Korea? Can't remember them winning gold, and the official statistic have them at 1 silver and 1 bronze. From skating, obviously. South Korea have plenty of good skaters, not that surprising they have one or two north of the border also.

It great that Kuwait remembers that! We have helped other countries and they hate us for helping them!
