I prefer Marian myself I remember the biathlete Marian Blaj. He won't be my athlete pick here for Romania, but still....(can you guess who it will be?)

Is it a different name to Năstase, Comăneci or Hagi?

Let's see... Virginia Ruzici?

My Norway pick would be Tore Andre Flo, if you're interested.

I am not taking Nastase for the same reason I'm not taking Ruziki, or Comaneci for that matter, if I have an opportunity I will almost always go for someone I've seen in action live (I made an exeption for Australia given their unique tennis players Laver and Court). That is not always possible but for Romania it certainly is. Also, I will always choose an athlete from an individual sport if possible. I'm not giving any more hints than that, if you're curious you'll have to wait and see

Re: THE Country Celebration Thread

Well, if I would take a guess, based on what you said, it could be one of:

- Gabriela Szabo
- Leonard Doroftei or Mihai Leu
- Simona Amânar or Marian Drăgulescu
- Andrei Pavel perhaps

BTW, my personal favorite Romania athlete is Simona Amânar.
