From Russia With Love by a country mile.
It had the best Bond, the best plot - a genuine spy thriller, good direction - shades of Hitchcock, great Bond girl, and two great baddies.
Well, tell me what is Hitchcockian about From Russia With Love
As a die-hard Hitchcock fan, I find it amazing.
The typical Hitchcock film is based on a fatal accident that drives a common man into a nightmarish spy stories (at least until North By Northwest). 007 always has a well-defined mission.
Also if I'm not mistaken (a long time I saw the film), the MacGuffin is a well-defined Lector decoder, while in Hitchcock's films, it usually remains mysterious.
Hitchcock's films are also usually rather short on technological advancement too.
"The Spy Who Loved Me" is my favourite. Moore & Connery are miles ahead of the others IMO.
Agree with both sentence.
Though overall, Octopussy
is as good as "The Spy...". I also like For Your Eyes Only
, but I don't like Carole Bouquet, lol.
