We talk about tennis all the time at TF, but we also talk about other things. That's how community is built, and that's why it has loads more users than MTF.

And please, don't act superior as if MTF is some bastion of wisdom and serious tennis discussion. Ever time I come here, I get inundated with negative, mean-spirited posts
like: "What a clown! Birdshit is such a fraud. He can't even return Nadull's mug serve. Even Frauderer wouldn't let Fakervic **** him in the ass like that. What a faggot! Pics is such a pathetic mug. He's an even bigger pusher than Muggay. Why can't he beat that pusher mug RodDICK!"

That kind of endless hate and negativity isn't even funny or creative. It's a huge turn off.
So why are you here, exactly?

nah, thw wta board was always more active and always had more members, but for most of its life it was "wtaworld". so i doubt that the name matters terribly much.

Plus it is easier just to look at the photos than read shitload of posts.

Because I love men's tennis, and I want to read about matches that I couldn't see. Also, there are good posters on MTF whose posts I like to read. MTF is useful to me, but it's nothing like TF, which I have found to be a great source of humor and internet community. I have even met people from TF in real life and had a great time.

I wish MTF were nicer, but I understand that any environment that is dominated by straight males is not going to be somewhere that I can spend too much time. It's never truly welcoming or hospitable.

P.S. Thank you, moderator Andreas, for deleting the hateful homophobic comments in this thread. I apologize for saying that mods frequently don't do anything about it. Thank you!

TF has also been around longer than MTF, so one would assume they are more active.

How would it be sexist? Many women and gay men avoid areas that are typically dominated by straight men because they feel uncomfortable or excluded by some of the language or behavior that is prevalent in these places. Of course you can "suck it up" but why would I, as a black woman, want to go to a site like, for example, /b/ on 4chan where they throw around words and phrases that demean my race and gender?

I'm a gay man, and I typically don't feel welcomed by groups of straight males. Here on MTF, I encounter homophobia and anti-gay insults. Just here in this thread we have had them (though the mods cleaned them up, thankfully). I also see a lot of misogyny here. It makes me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. I have no idea how pointing this out makes me sexist. That's like saying that a black man saying that a white supremacist group makes him feel uncomfortable is just as guilty of being racist.

I feel like this concept should be pretty straightforward considering that virtually no professional athletes come out of the closet.

I think they got a castle over there.

My favourite wtaworld thread is "guess those player's legs". Until we have a "whose bulge is it" thread we are more or less alright.

The reason TF has way more activity and fun that MTF is that TF has a much better vibe. It's funnier, friendlier, and more light-hearted. It isn't mean-spirited like some of MTF's main posters. The ambiance on MTF can get misogynist, nasty, and profoundly negative. You can already see the profound misogyny and nasty "humor" in this thread.
I don't get that "much better vibe" of tennisforum at all. The nicknames are just as rude (McFail), the fans of Sharapova/Serena are insufferable, the fans of Wozniacki and Radwanska are very pressed and hard to talk to. It is also an extremely shallow, looks-oriented place with the number of annoying gifs MTF simply cannot top. They sure are a couple of creative people on TF that provide some good visual content that is rarely present here, but the overall quality of tennis writing is much, much better on MTF despite the existence of boring, repetitive trolls like Topspindoctor.

Being against equal pay in slams isn't misogyny.

I used to browse TF but I got sick and tired of fangirls calling the players "sluts".

Horrendous 'banter'.
