It is not a loophole though. The rules clearly state a swimmer is only allowed to do one dolphin kick at the start.

Sort of reminds me when Denis Pankratov won the butterfly in Atlanta 1996 with the submarine technique. But completely different issue.

IF they all do it, at least it's a level playing field.

They all don't do it, that's the point. He's talking out his ass when he says that. Kozuke was a most blatant cheater and the Australians (including Sprenger) have been accused in races I didn't see, but Hansen certainly doesn't and I haven't seen Gyurta do it either.

"everyone’s pushing the rules and pushing the boundaries, so if you’re not doing it, you’re not trying hard enough"

= sports at the absolute highest level. It's all about finding the loopholes to gain an advantage.

Flopping in football/basketball etc. is "cheating". Going consistantly over the time limit in tennis is "cheating".

This seems like the fault of a poor, vague ruling and a terrible enforcement of it.

Educating MTF clowns one post at a time.
So many fanboys to troll, so little time.

Favourite tennis matches: 2011 US Open Final & 2012 Australian Open Final, starring Novak Djokovic & Rafael Nadal, showing us just how far science can take humanity.

The US Open Final was especially enjoyable, with 'Why are there white spots all over my body?' Djokovic and 'Why am I sweating boils?' Nadal embarked on a titanic battle, concluding with the inferior player, Nadal, entering a sort of delirious state of psychosis. This allowed him to, while showing very little fatigue, consume inhuman amounts of energy, before he literally ran his legs from underneath him. This is truly the stuff dreams are made of.

True. Don't see the big deal. Even the badminton ruling was harsh except that I saw the video of their tanking and it was too obvious and embarrassingly bad play. In that case, the authorities had to take action. They could have tanked in a exhibition like manner but they were stupid enough to do it otherwise.

Replays show Van der Burgh took three on the start.
Had he denied it he would not only have been a cheater but a liar aswell. So, no other way than admitting to what all are seeing on the vid. Would he have admitted if there were no vid?
He should be stripped from that gold medal.

I agree. I was being sarcastic.

If he didn't get caught, it never happened.

Come up with that yourself? If Hansen did it, like the others, he would never have lost in breaststroke.

Disgraceful stuff to cheat the legend Phelps out of another gold medal.

Phelps doesn't swim the breaststroke. Sprenger of Australia got the silver.
