In comes the slippery slope argument again

I'm pretty sure when people argued against interracial marriage they said it would lead to the defiling of our community ...

I'm pretty sure some of the KKK people would have argued that giving blacks the right would eventually lead to black supremacy one day ...

I'm also pretty sure that some people on the right argue that legalizing gay marriage leads to pedophiles and bestiality...

not the first and not the last.

How modern of you to introduce the KKK into the argument.

And if you think the slippy slope argument is nonsense, then you don't know much about history. When it comes to gun laws, two things are beyond dispute:

1. American history shows that more gun laws lead to more gun violence. Not the reverse. The worst incidents have occurred after the Brady Bill and stricter gun laws.
2. One gun law inevitably leads to another. When they banned automatic weapons, they said it would stop there. Then they began the crusade against handguns and semi-automatics. Once they are banned. It will be rifles and shotguns.

Background checks on people who buy large amounts of ammunition and weapons; regulations that require stores to report such people to the authorities; and basically stricter controls to make it harder for questionable people to get their hands on your dangerous toys. I mean, look at this article: http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2012...nline-shopping

Not entirely irrelevant. Some wacko pastor somewhere in the US recently sent out an invite for ministers or churchgoers (can't remember the specifics) to attend some church function - the catch was that they had to be white.

Yes. Because someone with a website is a KKK leader now. Anyway, I'm out. I hope the limited number of sensible people on this site can appreciate the importance of gun rights and not letting the actions of maniacs to decide the law.

1. Confounding effect. Correlation does not equate to causation. Furthermore, your statistics are wrong according to this graph: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Us...esbyweapon.svg Handgun violence sharply fell after 1993.

2. Nothing INEVITABLY leads to another. Sometimes some things do lead to another. but not all the time. and most certainly not inevitably.

Since I live in an US state that gun control law is close to non-existance and getting guns plus ammunitions are so easy and can easily bypass any laws when you attend the countless gun shows here, this is all I want to say.
