You're talking about a handball game.

Wow, that's sad actually.

bolt could switch to long jump at rio:

I want to do a Jesse: Bolt won't run in Rio but would love to do the long jump.

Usain Bolt could switch to long jump and challenge Britain’s Olympic champion Greg Rutherford at Rio 2016. The sprint king admits he needs a new goal after completing his historic ‘double double’ in London on Thursday night.

And Bolt says the idea of emulating his hero Jesse Owens, who won long jump gold in the 1936 Games, appeals to him.

“I have achieved my goal of becoming a living legend, so I need to sit down and find something else,” he revealed. “Something that's going to really motivate me to come out again and do great things.

“By Rio I’ll be 30 and I will have had my time as a sprinter, but long jump is something I’ve always wanted to try. Jesse Owens is someone I have a lot of respect for. He was a great athlete, he did great things for his country. He really pushed athletes to their best.”

Mike Powell, whose 8.95m long jump world record has stood for more than 20 years, believes Bolt has the raw skills to switch successfully.

“He could jump so far that it will be crazy,” said Powell. “The main elements in long jump are speed and height, which equals distance. He’s got them both.”

Bolt ruled out a switch to 400m, although not a one lap one-off showdown against new 800m world record holder David Rudisha.

Bolt has said the 400m is too hard with their training lol.

Would love to see a 400m race with him against Rudisha. My money would be on Rudisha!

Why did it take so long to make an appeal?

Or is the news just delayed?

He is a living legend. Better to be factual than be like 'I am not the favourite when I play a WTA player, no?'

Re: Olympic Games 2012 London Thread (All other sports besides tennis)

Good on Bolt for blasting the bitter Carl Lewis. We have to remember that Carl Lewis failed 3 drugs tests in 1988 during the US Olympic trials, and shouldn't have been allowed to compete at the Olympics that year. All of his results and tainted medals from Seoul don't count. It's funny that he has regularly insinuated that Bolt hasn't been clean, when he failed all those tests himself and was protected by his own olympic committee.

Linford Christie tested positive for pseudoephedrine in that year as well, so in-fact the true gold medalist and olympic 100m champion in 1988 was Calvin Smith.

Re: Olympic Games 2012 London Thread (All other sports besides tennis)

Poor Argentina they are such a powerhouse in women's field hockey, regularly beating their rivals to win world cup and champions trophy titles. However they have never been able to win the biggest prize in their sport, the olympic gold medal. At the last 4 olympics they have won 2 silver and 2 bronze medals. Poor Luciana Aymar especially.

Well done to the Dutch ladies for a pretty comfortable win against their strongest rivals. Pre-tournament they attracted a lot of attention for their other talents, but they also delivered the goods on the astroturf as well. Successfully defending an olympic title is always an amazing achievement, and they have now won olympic gold 3 times in their history.

When are these Idiots realise that this might be the only thing they might be good at. So why break a good thing. He seems like a Same Case as that of Michael Phelps,Bjorn Borg who were winning everything with their respective Field but then somehow they felt they should take a break.

Need to get some of the best moose hunters to stop these butchers and the flying meatball to go through their legs.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".
