Nah. US has it from the suit era. Phelps, Peirsol, Shanteau, and Walters put up 3:27:28.

worst showing ever. disaster for the federation, tv commentators have been very harsh and rightly so. the most disturbing part was the apparent satisfaction by the actual swimmers. they were okay with what they offered. surreal.

Yep, Swimming is done. If there was only another sport where they gave out a ton of medals that the Americans were good at...

Oh well.

Yep. Unlike canoeing and women's cox or whatever. Jumping on a trampoline and power walking or whatever.

The mens high jump as well.
The 8.21m that Rutherford jumped will be enough.

What could the swimmers do?
Germans last ruled in now forbidden polyurethane suits. Who would have expected that those times had to be bettered to win olympic medals?

How could Biedermann, Steffen and co have improved on their 'supersuit' times in regular swimming outfits?

17 (yes, yes, yes!) Slams! And counting....

Seriously, swimming moving forward is going to be so weird without Phelps around. He has shaped so much of the sport. Probably what it will feel like when Federer retires.
