Re: The "Who plays tennis?" thread

Without bragging, I "feel" that I have a natural talent for the game. I have hit some pretty insane shots over the years.

My groundstrokes are pretty poor and without topspin, and my serve is too streaky (meaning I can hit aces followed by double faults). Other than that, I'm a high-level player. I rely on my athleticism a lot. I jump and slide to balls, and I am skilled at behind the back defensive slices.

My game-plan: When I'm up, go for all my shots down the line and approach the net.

When I'm down, play like a pusher and run for everything.

I choke a lot, but I'm also good at making comebacks from 5-0 down.

I think I could beat some Challenger level ATP players if I tried my hardest, and they had an off day

Even if you have an amazing second serve it pays dividends to get your first in concistently (60 percent at least).

You're basically advising those to take pace off their first serves, which is pretty pointless for me. I don't hit my first serve 100% anyway, nor do most, but I'm not hitting my first serve "marginally harder than my second".

Re: The "Who plays tennis?" thread

I played tennis at a fairly high level since the age of 8 to 17, then had shoulder problems so switched to academics. These days I occasionally play for fun, but its depressing how much worse I am than when I was a kid.

I had a nice serve, slice and volleys. Was pretty solid of the ground too (mostly defensive one hander, ballbashed the shit out of my forehands)

I love all aspects of TENNIS.

Federer - The Artist
Murray - The Tactician
Nalbandian - The Ballstriker
Llodra - The S/V

Re: The "Who plays tennis?" thread

i started playing in high school when i quit lacrosse and picked it up pretty decently. i only play at the club level at college now, but the team is pretty good as we are D1. Still have plenty of parts of my game to work on though.

Played for a year in high school before following my true calling: track. I had GOAT movement and a great serve. I was told I had a natural ability for serving. But I liked running better so I switched.

Re: The "Who plays tennis?" thread

Barricades are a good choice.

I always just pick the shoes I find the prettiest, such a girly trait . In the past five years I've played on Adidas, Nike, K-Swiss and Lotto

Re: The "Who plays tennis?" thread

I hope these barricades are a better fit than my current ones. Got some 6.0's but they are pretty restrictive. Barricade Team 3's look less tight.
