I would love to have that problem. Losing weight is within your control.

I got Bell's palsy (which will never fully healed) and synkinesis when I was 23. One day I had a symmetrical face, the next I woke up distorted and will never be the same. I was literally a model before that and now, well just the other week, kids made fun of my lopsided face on prac at a high school (it gets worse when I'm stressed).

But you'll still find me in the pictures thread.

I second that... an IT forum I frequent has policy of either no pic or real pic, no fake ones allowed People tend to be far more serious with their real photo or name behind

“There’s so many athletes, tennis players around the world,” he continued, trying to put his life into some kind of perspective, “they want to be the best in what they do. They want to succeed. Many of them, they don’t succeed in the end. I’m fortunate to have this opportunity and succeed.”

I'm so sorry, friend I think you're quite the handsome man, regardless of your condition, but of course, I understand that I shouldn't take for granted by health or sweat the small things because things could be unfortunately worse.

This, I think every poster should have their pic in their avatar.

Why would I ever want to show my wrinkles and laugh lines?

Wow, sorry to hear that. I had Bell's palsy in 2008 - literally woke up one day unable to move the left side of my face and it lasted for four months. It's pretty much healed but I still get mega paranoid about it coming back. I think you're brave for showing your face in the pictures thread considering I had no pictures of myself taken during that period.

Because wrinkes and laugh lines, especially when caused by lots of laughing in your life, are beautiful

Exactly. I don't understand why people are afraid to show their face here. Maybe it's because then they have to reveal themselves and can't be the arseholes they pretend to be.

But the posters I'd like to see a pic of... Clay Death, Corey Feldman (even though he posted some blurry cam pics ages ago and he looked quite handsome ), Oracle, heya, Fast_Clay, Topspindoctor, Filo V...

I'm learning to deal with it but I still need to hear such words now and again to save me going crazy about it. So thanks.

Sorry to hear you had it too but glad it has pretty much healed.

Now I have to be choosy in what photos I share. Some I look almost how I used to (especially ones focused on my left side or if I'm not smiling much), but others it looks like I've had a bad facelift on one side of my face. I hope you face fully heals soon. And if it comes back, look up Bowen therapy, I've heard it's pretty much the only thing that is effective for the acute stage of Bell's palsy.
