Do you enjoy eating?

Please, mods, don't merge this thread into the vegetarian thread. It's an offshoot to that thread, similar subject matters but a different question. I'm obviously not implying or trying to that being vegetarian means you don't enjoy eating or anything else, just asking a question. What is your motivation behind eating? Do you like to eat, or is it a chore for you? Do you do it just because you have to, and to get a benefit out of it? Or do you do it for taste and fulfillment? Answer up, I'm curious to see the results.

Re: Do you enjoy eating?

Yeah, I enjoy it, if the food is tasty and there is good drink available.

Otherwise eating is a chore for me, if I am forced to grab a burger on the run and wash it down with soft drink.

Re: Do you enjoy eating?

The vegetarian thread opened my eyes in terms of different people having different preferences in terms of what they like to eat and why. I wouldn't necessarily say eating is a chore for me, but everything I put in my body is planned, like, I don't eat without thinking about exactly what I'm putting in my body and the end result. With that said, I don't eat a whole lot outside of oatmeal, some fruits, vegetables, chicken and some pasta. Also I never drink anything but water and I absolutely never eat out unless forced.

I think that, ultimately, whether a person enjoys eating depends on their intent behind eating. Honestly, taste is secondary for me. Eating is a necessity to survive, but I only eat the foods that keep me looking good, and keep my face and torso thin.

P.S. This isn't a thread seeking attention, I'm legitimately curious to see the results and what others think.

Oh, and also, drinking while you eat is a major no-no. It damages your bodies' ability to digest your food.

Re: Do you enjoy eating?

No, like I said, I only care about looking good when it comes to eating

Drinking water while you eat can lead to weight gain, I know I sound paranoid and it wasn't anything said to mean anything, just a general statement

Re: Do you enjoy eating?

Eating is something I consider as one of my enjoyments in life. I do not restrict myself at all and will eat anything at least once. Though conversely I'm incredibly picky, so 80% of meals I've never tried more than once due to not liking it.

I don't think I've ever watched calories or what proteins, carbs, fats etc I'm taking in and just eat as much of anything I like without really knowing or caring whether I'm missing something important or having too much of something unhealthy. Yes, I may regret that later and my high metabolism won't last forever.

I don't mind eating in a rush, since even when I can take my time I have been told I eat as if someone is going to take away my food at any moment. I Stuff my face without even being aware of it basically. Which means I always have a drink nearby, usually fizzy. Have to clear that clogged up feeling in the chest afterall.

While I'm still able to commit eating crimes such as these, I enjoy food as one of my reasons for living. Ironically, it may well result in my painful death.
If.. no when I have become unhealthy later in my life and am forced to eat fruit/veg/oats/bran flakes, eating will be something I force myself to do, and in turn will be a fate worse than death.

So someone recently informed me that my sig was empty. Said I needed a life affirming motivational quote by a positive role model like Einstein or Oscar Wilde...

Great tip to stay fit and mobile: If you run up and down the stairs two steps at a time at least once daily, there will never come a time when you can't do it. Until of course one day you mistime a step, collapse and break all your bones... That would suck. But you had a good run.

Wait at least 30-45 minutes. Also, drink a glass of water when you wake up and about 30 minutes before going to sleep. It all helps with digestion and cleans out your system.

In some ways, I envy your attitude (this attitude in general) towards eating, totally carefree. With that said I know that there is no way I would ever actually go through and follow this eating pattern myself. But you only live once, so it's good to do that to the fullest.

reading your posts,it seems you need more spontaineity in your life. i recall your thread about how much time you take for getting dressed/ready each morning and it was a lot, everything planned too.

having everything so planned out takes the fun out of some things

also, it isn't good for one's mentality to be that concerned about looks. i know you won't see it that way now but i assure you that you will in the future. just my 2 cents

im pretty much like this but i try to eat relatively heathy stuff in my daily diet. still, i dont restrict myself to anything except 2 things

a- cheese and butter (causes me acne) but i still eat cheese from time to time (mainly on pizza, and i love pizza). i havent eaten butter in ages though.

b- drinking beer and eating. i just don't like it and apparently it's awful for one's health. still, i've done it a few times but i generally try to avoid it

Re: Do you enjoy eating?

I don't eat, I inhale food

Also, I'm pretty much a regular Andrew Zimmern: will eat the weirdest things, don't like to not try food just because it isn't "normal"

My Twitter account is about: football, food, alcohol, tennis and family.

In that order

Rafael "The Matador of Spin" Nadal
Roger “The Magician of Precision” Federer
Del Potro, Ferrer, Haas, Zeballos

Food is one of life's best pleasures imo.

I say this as a former eating disorder sufferer
