Great people talk about ideas.
Average people talk about things.
Small people talk about other people.

Elton John - he did a few ok songs in the 70s then churns out sentimental crap for the next 40 years but everyone worships him. Probably because he's gay.

Just watched a chilling documentary on the collaboration of Hitler and Stalin on the extermination of Jews and the alliance of Nazi Germany and Communist Russia in the early years of WWII. Their extermination methods, torture methods and human medical experimentation were all done side by side. And this is where Putin wants to return with his constant defense of the Soviet ideology.
I understand better now why you have to demonise Churchill. You are trying to purge from your mind that Communism actually exceeded the Nazis in barbarism.

Churchill was the only sane person in an era of insanity.

Can't say I'm surprised to see BH defending Reagan, Churchill and Thatcher.

All champions of the individual. My kind of people.

As for Churchill, he probably saved Europe and maybe the entire world, from the utter barbarity outlined in the Molotov -Ribbentrop pact. If Churchill had not determined to fight to the end, then Germany and the Soviets would have carved up Europe and the exterminations of the "inferior peoples" would have taken place. Even the Scots were on the list of peoples to be exterminated, so probably the Irish and all the brown people were too.
Fortunately Churchill saved Western Europe, but Eastern Europe had to suffer 45 years of Soviet enslavement before some sanity was restored there.
So, if you are in favour of Soviet style extermination of people just for the the sake of extermination in the Soviet case, or in favour of racial style extermination of people in the Nazi case, then Churchill is probably not for you.
