Re: Steve Jobs has died

Oh man. A true idol from my youth! I so well remember the days when I worked as a post-graduate researcher at the uni back in those days of old, and we were all soooooo happy to see those terrible IBM computers being replaced by Apple II's, and thereafter, the lovely Apple Macintosh... the guy was a true visionary.

Apple Macintosh 1984 -

I knew he was already very sick indeed for quite a while and had to resign from the Apple board some time ago due to his illness... RIP, Steve.

What...? Just awful. Rest in peace, Steve.

Re: Steve Jobs has died

Was to be expected Even though I hate Apple and their politics I've to admit that Steve Jobs probably was the most influencing human of the last 10 years. At least he doesn't has to witness how Samsung is overtaking Apple in the next 2-3 years.

RIP bro

Re: Steve Jobs has died

Regardless of whether you liked his products (I like them myself) the guy was a genius and an innovator, he took a company on the brink of bankruptcy and transformed them into the most valuable and profitable tech company in the world.

His impact and legacy on the technology and entertainment world is huge.

RIP.

+1. I have serious issues with Apple's politics, but Steve Jobs was an icon and will go down in history as the true visionary he was. RIP

Back in the 1980's, Apple was a truly revolutionary company though. I know all to well how they eventually succumbed to the wide-spread nastiness of commercialism, but I prefer to remember those older days.
It might be a tad different when being an old geek, such as I am...

I truly hope the equally legendary Mr. Wozniack will give his condolences too.

Love him or hate him, the man was a legend. A true innovator who strived to drive the computer technology above and beyond. Watch some of his presentations in your spare time.

Hopefully everyone realizes just how impactful he was to our very livelihoods today and in recent history. I hope in his death, that his works while he was living are truly highlighted, remembered and celebrated. Because dude is a legend. He will be very sorely missed.

First Apple I owned was this:

Then I had a Mac. Once I got an office job it was all Windows all the time.

There will never be another Steve Jobs. RIP
