Reading posts like the above two are why I am glad I have quit college for now to pursue my true ambition.
To the opening two posters, what would be your ideal dream jobs?
I wanted to do behind the scenes work in films initially, but I'm far too lazy to put in the 80 hour plus 7 day weeks that would have taken.
I'm studying to be an accountant which I'm actually pretty interested in, and I'm only one step away from moving up and doing a job at my company that I would actually enjoy. The problems with the current job are that I'm over qualified for it in terms of experience but not qualifications, so it's boring me to tears at the minute. Most importantly, I just have a really bad manager. The type of person who just expects you to work unpaid overtime etc even though the rest of the finance departments don't have to do so, and doesn't give you much thanks for it.
I'm hoping a job comes up in the next couple of months when there's a few people moving on to other jobs round the place, but I don't want to get my hopes up in case it doesn't happen. When I look at the guy over in the other department who I work with a lot, with just a few more exams passed than me, in a good job with a good manager and better pay, I just can't help but feel envious that it's not me there. Not a great attitude to have I guess, but there you go.
