Re: Why do people put other nationalities in their avatar?

Obvious reasons perhaps but some have more than one nationality, some want it to fit a colour scheme with the avatar (I'm guilty of that). Others do it to support their favourite players, or because other flags are more aesthetically pleasing than their own, or they're doing it to express their inner xenophile for that country.

It doesn't really matter because life's too short to take it so seriously all the time.

You seriously believe she is a double account, based on the fact she didn't reply to you when you spoke to her in Swedish?

Re: Why do people put other nationalities in their avatar?

I agree with the whole citizen of the world thing, I think we are all becoming that more and more. But still nationality doesnt necesserely means a bad or divise thing. On the contrary, We live in a world with different costumes and attitudes depending where you live. I meet someone from Japan, is a chance to learn about the good things about his culture and vice versa. Just like a I do with my experience having lived a while in the US.

Yeah, nationaility as far as extremism and as if it makes you better or worse is pretty stupid. But to deny that nationality plays a major role in influencing our view of things sex, politics, economy, values and behaviour is dumb also. I am brazilian, a big part of me is influenced by that, but it doesnt mean you still cant be a citizen of the world also.

Re: Why do people put other nationalities in their avatar?

For obvious reasons (I would also like to don the Lybian colours, but I'm afraid the only flag available is Gaddafi's).

It's nice to see that some of us are doing something tangible to ease the suffering and plight of the japanese people.

Re: Why do people put other nationalities in their avatar?

I'm keeping my original nationality because I could change it only to non-english speaking due to languague limitations. It would be traced in a second.

Excellent example of weak thinking.

Mjau! knows that someone has donned a Japanese flag to show condolences (fact A). She doesn't know a thing about whether that person has contributed in any other way (fact B). But for this gal, evidence of A disproves B. In other words, she mistakes abscence of evidence for evidence of absence.

And she was never going to skip a chance of showing off just how cool she thinks she is. Ain't she adorable?
