But Starcraft might have the greatest longevity of any game ever made. It is twelve years old now and it still has an extraordinarily busy online community. Not to mention it might be the most meticulously crafted and well-balanced RTS game ever made. Aside from its graphics it still beats out new RTS games in every possible way.

In the end, it's very simple. What do you like more, RPGs or RTS games? I have never liked turn-based RPGs so the answer is easy. Obviously Bilbo and I are in the minority in this thread, though. But to say that Starcraft doesn't stand up to in FF7 is silly and stupid, as I could easily make the argument the other way around
If you read carefully, you will notice that it was Bilbo who made the assertion about this issue which is clearly based on opinion. I merely stated that his opinion is not shared by all. It's Bilbo's style to make assertions about his opinions as if they were facts. I was stating that it is indeed a matter of opinion.

I don't really care about pro tournaments and that's hardly an argument. As you said, Counter-Strike has awesome longevity, yet rarely is it considered one of the greatest games of all time. Besides, as Certinfy said, COD is also played in online tournaments, yet you dismiss that game and others like it.

You're so illogical that it's humorous

Only Del Potro can take him out before the semis, and he won't. Nadal is winning the AO, bet your house on it.

Re: The Gaming Thread.

Make sure I don't burn myself or something, got to do some soldering on the motherboard and stuff, and hopefully at the end it works.

You share an account?

Now once he started you won't ever get a chance to play it again

Re: The Gaming Thread.

Starcraft II broke a new all-time record. 1.8 million copied sold in North America and Europe on it's release day and that doesn't even include South Korea.

Re: The Gaming Thread.

All time record? All time record for PC games maybe...

CoD:MW2 stole 1.2 million copies on release day alone in the UK.

yes, on different platforms. imagine SC2 would be available on all platforms. CoD:MW2 wouldn't stand a chance. SC2 is the better game.

It clearly broke a new record for any game whose name starts with "Starcraft"
