Re: Golf 2012 - Waiting for Augusta

Taking Poulter off the team for one match seems like a poor decision. His record was rather spectacular going in, 8 points from 11 matches. Now he's 12 from 15. That's 80%. Fantastic! Luke Donald is not bad either, 10½ from 15 is 70%. Garcia is 18 from 28, 64%, and Westwood is 21 from 37 - "only" 57%, but rather a lot of points. Not that far off Nick Faldo's record 25.

The US have no expecienced player (as in lots of RCs played) above 50% at the moment. Mickelson stands at 45%, Woods at 44%, Furyk at 37%.

Poulter has another record, most matches without a tie.

I'm no Fakervic fan but he needs to save tennis, sadly tree trunk legs will be fresh. Interesting he's never questioned....

Waiting on the fall series now.

HSBC Champions tournament and the Dubai World Championship. Still a lot of good golf to come this season, folks!

Well, Poulter looks to have continued his great Ryder Cup form to win one of the second-tier 'WGC' events, the HSBC Champions. Hopefully he wins a major next year.

He may not be as consistent as Donald and Westwood, but when he is in contention I reckon he has a better chance to win a major.

Yesterday was perhaps one of the best days in golfing history. The sooner broom-handles and belly putters are removed from the sport, the better.

I see Keegan and Webb are already threatening the officials with 'legal action'… lol.

Re: Golf 2012 - Waiting for Augusta

Yeah, 2016.

Players won't persevere with broom-handle and belly putters, though. If the ban comes into play in 2016, it would be wise for them to change now and start practicing with the short putter.

The time violation given to the 14 year old kid is a joke, and he could miss a cut by one shot...
