Czechs give go-ahead to Lisbon Treaty

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/new...cle6900677.ece

Czech constitutional judges have given the go-ahead to the Lisbon treaty, making it almost certain that the controversial EU agreement will come into force by the end of the year.

The decision dashes the hopes of British Conservatives who had hoped that the Czech Republic could delay ratification until after a British general election.

Shameful and disgraceful.

Great news, now let's hope Blair doesn't become EU president, and the Brits get what they deserve for their anti-EU attitude.

They seem to be looking to the smaller EU member states to find a candidate for the EU presidency: Belgium (Van Rompuy), The Netherlands (Balkenende), Luxembourg (Juncker),..

Blair isn't that popular in the UK. He'd be a lot less country bias than the other names I've heard mentioned.

Hopefully not just candidates from Benelux. I'd also like to see nominations from Scandinavia, Austria and France.

Hopefully Balkenende won't waste his time being essentially a spokesperson for the EU. Blair's credentials as a figurehead are better from years of experience in smiling and sucking up to America.

Thank you for not reporting my post.

How are Brits anti-EU? Not everyone is a UKIP fan

The EU is the best thing to happen in Europe's history. However there's a line when it comes to sovereignty and states shouldn't give too many powers away.

Tennis has no blood passport system, and does basically no out of competition testing.

The methods and drugs used by Armstrong in 1999 would work in tennis right now, with zero chance of being caught (not slightly surprising to anyone familiar with the topic, btw).
