Whenever's convenient for you guys, we can decide on it once the league if filled, I'll lower it down to ten people since we're most likely not going to get 16 participants.

Re: MTF Fantasy Basketball

I'm sure we can get close to 16 people - what about guys from GL Basketball section, like its like that and other regulars? Imagine the hell in the draft room, a GM mod would have a field day with all the bad language that will be thrown around.

And what about the rest of MTF as a whole, there must be tons of NBA fans who will want to play, they probably just aren't aware of the thread, yet.

Re: MTF Fantasy Basketball

Seth create a list of those confirmed in your first post in this thread so we can track and see how many more we need to create a decent league. Personally 10 is a good number what do you think?

Re: MTF Fantasy Basketball

So we've got:
Grinder
jayjay
jig-jag
TMJordan
Fensler
Neely
Adam
Bad Gambler
Johnny Drama

9 people, so just one more if everyone's cool with a 10 person league. 16 people might actually be difficult when it comes to the draft since it would require people to really know their stuff in terms of role players and such. I've left it to 12 spots in case anyone else wants to join, if not we'll go with 10.

I'd have thought psichogaucho, Slokid, and some of the guys in the gambler's lounge would be interested. The draft room should be a good fucking time. Watch BG take Bogut with his first round pick.

If the draft is done at a reasonable hour, then I might be in.

Re: MTF Fantasy Basketball

I think a 16 team league will be great if we can get it, there is alot of talent in the NBA so it would be a better competition if that talent is spread across the board instead of a 10 team league where we all have formidable teams and it takes away the tactical aspect out of it.

Of course, if it's not realistic to get 16 entries, then so be it, but I'm sure we can, it shouldn't be that hard to get another 6 people (providing slokid is playing).

Please don't let Fantanals (that's fantasy players who are anal about fantasy trash talk and banter) play in this game, I want to be able to take the piss and have the piss taken out of me without being told off about it. Thanks.
I aim to please

How does the draft room work? Each player just gets 1 pick at a time? How on earth do we propose to have everyone from all these different continents on at the same time? (or can you have a pre-set list that does it automatically for you if you're not around).

We've done it for NFL for two years straight, no reason why it can't be done here, also. It will probably mean a late night for UK players - what time do you usually go to sleep, Adee?

The NFL drafts have taken place at around 1-2am UK time.

You can pre-set, but the draft is the best part of the game, especially with the characters involved in this one it should be hilarious. So try to be there.

Surely with me being the star attraction in the league, the time should be suited to my liking

I have seen you posting on MTF at that time and even later Unless of course you were coming back from the pub.

So my suggestion would be hit the town get on the piss and then comeback for the live draft, it will make things even more interesting

Bogut just got a big money contract in the offseason. Watch him be a legitimate double double threat every night now

I already have his singlet ready for my team.

Re: MTF Fantasy Basketball

Invite sent to qczi; Fensler and Neely still need to claim their teams and then we have 10 and we can decide on a live draft time if no one else is in.

BG: I'm worried about Bogut's injury, what's the status on that? I'm sure your Aussies will be will represented when you take Nathan Jawai with your second round pick.

No censorship in the draft room, so if you're easily offended or can't take trash talk, fuck off.

If only there was Euroleague fantasy.

Re: MTF Fantasy Basketball

So what's going on with this?

BTW, I can't be bothered to read the rules, can someone tell me how the game is actually played? Do we face each other each night? Or is it simply a points tally over a season?

I've got a feeling 70% of you will stop playing properly after about 3 nights and it'll just be left to Grinder, BG and myself. Grinder has to be the fav with his extensive knowledge of NBA, maybe Swish, also. However, I just win fantasy games. That's what I do. It's an intangible quality you just can't explain, I'm looking forward to proving myself in a new arena once more.
