Re: The Best National Anthem...?

I can't believe that when I was originally posting my favourites in this thread that I missed Brazil. I LOVE it... even more catchy than the Italian

Definitely no fan of the country, but this is good for marching Korean style.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Re: The Best National Anthem...?

Fitting place for this.

I couldn't find it in English, but the Ozzies playing the wrong Spanish anthem (the delivery was funny in itself) in the 2003 final was priceless.

To make matters worse, the Australian ambassador in Spain wrote an apology letter to the Spanish Secretary of Sports, and wrote his name wrong.

Tennis has no blood passport system, and does basically no out of competition testing.

The methods and drugs used by Armstrong in 1999 would work in tennis right now, with zero chance of being caught (not slightly surprising to anyone familiar with the topic, btw).

Re: The Best National Anthem...?

Our song is the best. Very majestetic and such a great theme, about peace and togetherness (is that even a word?) Anyway, here it is. What do you think?

It's boring.

Re: The Best National Anthem...?

I love the national anthems of Italy, Spain, Russia and Romania!

Not a big fan of the British and Canadian national anthems and the Australian anthem was beginning to get annoying during the 2006 Commonwealth Games!

Tsonga - Mayer - Lacko - Rosol - Youzhny - Melzer - Petzschner

Re: The Best National Anthem...?

Love the Polish one - I came across it by accident, but I have a choir version that I listen to regularly and I can even sing along in Polish! I even checked up the translation and history, that's how much I like it!

I'm a big fan of the French one as well - the Casablanca scene is classic!

I think the Kenyan anthem is great too - beautiful and moving:

Re: The Best National Anthem...?

Europe forced some BS anthem with no words on us but we will always consider Jedna si Jedina as our true anthem.

they try to play that BS here but the crowd takes over.
