Great Britain - Jerusalem. Although I'm not religious in any shape or form I've always preferred this over GSTQ...Hope they change it after QE2.

Poland anthem is actually really nice, after the French anthem.

Re: The Best National Anthem...?

Every national anthem at once

This monster was created by taking recordings of every national anthem in the world and playing them beside each other, so that they all end together (or, to be more exact, so that they all end with their final crescendoes occurring simultaneously, in one giant mega-crescendo).

England's actual National anthem is Land of Hope and Glory I believe.

Mark Lenders banged your girlfriend, I'm sorry to tell you that mate.

French one is really strange because it is one of the most brutal (concerning the lyrics..)
most of anthems are peaceful, not the French one at all! It is a "warrior anthem".

Like the God Save the Queen as much.

Here is the French anthem (with English lyrics ) :

TT singles: - Rank 130 (+113 in 2013)
Finals: CH Buenos Aires'12, Fut Poitiers'13
GS: AO13:Q+R1, FO13:Q+R2, WI13: QR2
TT doubles: - Rank 94 (+175 in 2013)
Titles: CH Buenos-Aires'12, Fut Poitiers'13 , CH Caltanisseta'13, ATP Bogota (with Fickelgruber)
PAW: Rank 36 (Race: 19)
FITD: W Kuala Lumpur'12, Dusseldorf'13, 2nd Sydney'13
DTT: W Doubles (w. goOudinUSA)

Re: The Best National Anthem...?

The best one: Uruguay, hands down. There's no competition there.

Worst: Montenegro. That must be the darkest and most terrifying national anthem I have ever heard. It reminded me of a horror movie.. kinda like Dracula or something.

For economy: Spanish
For Music: Brasilian
For Pomp: French
For complexity: Indian

Re: The Best National Anthem...?

We have a rubbish national anthem. Don't enjoy it at all. It's just so dreary.

Big fan of the Irish one.

Andy Murray

Gilles Simon - Juan Martin del Potro - Grigor Dimitrov

Pablo Andujar - Philipp Petzschner - David Ferrer - Mikhail Youzhny - Simone Bolelli

Julien Benneteau - Juan Monaco - Tommy Haas - Gianluigi Quinzi - Tommy Robredo - Guido Pella - Lleyton Hewitt

Re: The Best National Anthem...?

I don't like "God Save the Queen" at all. England/Britain would be much better off with "Jerusalem" or "Land of Hope and Glory"

I like the German and French anthems, but my favourite is probably "Land of My Fathers" from Wales

Re: The Best National Anthem...?

the Italian one is quite nice for what concerns the musical aspect. better not read the lyrics at all..

one of my favourites is the Volkshymne, of course! Music by Joseph Haydn!

Laßt uns fest zusammenhalten,
in der Eintracht liegt die Macht;
Mit vereinter Kräfte Walten
Wird das Schwere leicht vollbracht,
Laßt uns Eins durch Brüderbande
gleichem Ziel entgegengehn
