Re: Any vegans out there?

Furthermore, I can guarantee that at least one vegan who reads this post will be wearing slave laboured goods from an Asian factory where malnourished children are surviving on less than $5 a day.

Just look at our own race first. Get your priorities sorted.

Disturbing that so many people see that what they're doing is wrong but continue to do it.

I'd imagine a vegan is more likely to act on things like this (because they have proven they have a great deal of resolve on issues based on morals), it's not impossible to focus on both.

Vegans do not have any moral highground. They just think they do.

I'm not saying they do, I disagree with some vegan beliefs, all i'm saying is that they clearly have acted due to a moral belief, so it is likely that they could do so again.

For vegan/vegetarian cat/dog owners: how do you reconcile buying meat products for your pets with your beliefs? I'm sure there are many different answers, since people have a variety of reasons for choosing to eat this way.

I don't! I buy my cat food from here http://www.veggiepets.com/acatalog/v..._cat_food.html and here http://www.aminews.co.uk/products/ami_cat.htm

That way my cats are happy, healthy and well-fed, and I don't have to compromise my beliefs or way of life at all! All my cats are insured, and regularly monitored by the Vet, and he says there are absolutely no health problems to cats from eating this. Not sure if it's available outside the UK though.

Burt what about their beliefs and way of life? Surely you can not deny that, given a choice, cats will choose meat every time?

It is really wrong to make your cats suffer because of your own beliefs, they hardly have the ability to say I want to eat meat. How long before people start forcing this on their friends and family?

I think that's fantastic

My mum actually owns my dogs so i'm afraid i can't decide what they eat. I'd have to look into health risks with a vet but ideally i'd like to do as Rosie does.

This is going to be very contentious, but personally i think that people SHOULD force their views on others.
I believe killing for meat should be illegal, laws are enforced, therefore ideally i'd stop people eating meat just as simply as i'd stop people committing robbery or murder.

I don't have that power though and no politician would ever bring it in so i'm afraid we cannot force our views on anyone. I can say to my friends and family my view and what i think, but if they disagree then that's it

I guess you completely understand how pro-lifers feel, then, when they want to outlaw all abortions.
